Imagine someone held the Sultan as a POW and he kept releasing firmans saying "Dissolve the army, move from giaur land and accept yabanci rule over the Devlet". That should sound very suspicious, few would obey that. Just giving an example.

There's nothing going to change. I remain very pessimistic.

The dude has literally been meeting with liasons/couriers who have been flying back and forth from Turkey to Erbil in the KRG, where the PKK leadership in Qandil came for meetings.

The DEM politicians met with Ocalan, then to go to Erbil and talk to the PKK leadership there, then they fly back and relay what Qandil said to Ocalan, and then back to Erbil to talk to Qandil leadership, back and forth, back and forth for several months now.

If you are suggesting that he is doing it b/c Turkey has a gun to his head or they aren't his real words, this is incorrect.

It seems a lot of people are upset that their pawn has decided to self decommission.

Lets see, really its all about Syria once the Syrian PKK is dismantled, its all over.

One of the reasons they are giving up in Turkey is b/c they have been almost completely dismantled in Turkey, where its very difficult for them to function like they used to.

The KDP will never allow the PKK to function on their turf long term, they might move to Sulamaniyyah but even there its diminishing returns, b/c that far away from the Turkish border and they are operating on another Kurdish group's terf(PUK), one that is very different from their own.

The PKK is a Kurmanji Kurdish group, b/c the Kurds in Turkey are largely Kurmanji speakers, as are the Kurds in Northern Syria and Northern KRG, but the Kurds in Southern KRG are very different, they are Sorani.

As long as they are dissolved in Turkey and Neutralized in Syria, they are essentially over as a movement, b/c if they try to set up shop in Northern KRG, thats going to be beef with the KDP and the Barzani clan.

And they have gone to war with each other before.
