They never learn, Ocalan is telling them to disarm and this dude is saying yeah he only means the Turkish branch, not the Syrian branch. lol

If they keep this line then there will be an operation, honestly I would rather there be an operation and then decisively settle this.

The dude has literally been meeting with liasons/couriers who have been flying back and forth from Turkey to Erbil in the KRG, where the PKK leadership in Qandil came for meetings.

The DEM politicians met with Ocalan, then to go to Erbil and talk to the PKK leadership there, then they fly back and relay what Qandil said to Ocalan, and then back to Erbil to talk to Qandil leadership, back and forth, back and forth for several months now.

If you are suggesting that he is doing it b/c Turkey has a gun to his head or they aren't his real words, this is incorrect.

It seems a lot of people are upset that their pawn has decided to self decommission.
Do you actually think he is allowed to meet with anyone without surveillance?

Another important development. I'm sceptical of sending our soldiers to Ukraine.

Yeah I don't like that Idea at all, not really sure what the benefit here is for Turkey to be caught up in BS when things explode. For Turkey to commit to troops, there would need to be significant concessions from Europe for Turkey carrying that Burden.

The people he speak to I don't know what sort of surveillance is there monitoring their meetings in Erbil when they relay his messages to the PKK Leadership from Qandil.

Well his replies to these people. Don't tell me you think the Turkish government doesn't monitor Ocalan's every encounter in prison.

You know its not just one PKK guy in prison right?

"While posing for cameras, Ocalan was joined by three other inmates - Omer Hayri Konar, Veysi Aktas, and Hamili Yildirim, all senior PKK commanders - suggesting that he was not alone in making this decision."

Listen.. this dissolution deal was supposed to have happened in the late 2000s-2010s. The only reason it didn't happen is b/c something unexpected happened that changed the dynamics of the region... And that was the Syrian Civil War. the Syrian Civil war allowed the PKK to set up a psuedostate in Northern Syria where they were being backed by the US and were given arms.

This completely changed the balance of power at the negotiating table, suddenly they no longer felt the need to have a deal with Turkey, suddenly their ambitions grew much much bigger, they started targeting Turkey, thinking they could use syria as a platform for bigger things. but obviously with the recent changes, that dynamics has also changed, the US is now looking to get out of Syria and now Assad is gone. So this again changes the balance of power for the PKK. Which forced the PKK back into negotiations. These negotiations with Ocalan have been going on for about a year now, since the US started giving hints that it wants to leave Syria(this was back when the US was negotiating with Assad to leave Syria in exchange for Assad getting rid of Iran), now the situation for the PKK is even worse as now Assad is gone, and Turkey always had issues with Assad, but the new govt is friendlier to Turkey, so is unlikely to use the PKK as a lever against Turkey.

So they are now back at the negotiating table. Its not some magic where Turkey got a gun to Ocalan's head or any of that nonsense about him being controlled. Its a matter of dynamics.

Very insightful article on this whole process, i'll try to post some excerpts.

"once the PKK or KCK formally decides to disarm and dissolve, including its armed wings in Syria, Iraq, and Iran, Ankara will shift its focus to democratic reforms, potentially easing legal pressure on Kurdish politicians."

Firat outlines the next steps: "Weapons return and registration will begin in cooperation with neighboring countries. Foreign fighters will be required to leave their host countries. Those choosing to enter politics will be integrated into their respective country’s political system. Senior KCK leaders will be relocated to third countries."

Many expect that PKK leaders may be relocated to Iraq's Suleymaniyah, a region controlled by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), a political party historically friendly to the armed group.

Ogur recalls that during the 2013-2015 Turkey-PKK peace process, lists of PKK members were created, allowing those not involved in armed conflict to return to Turkey without facing charges, while senior commanders were relocated to third countries.

Firat adds that Turkey could continue military operations against the PKK and even escalate action against the SDF in Syria if the group refuses to integrate into the new Syrian government, which is close to Ankara.

According to Ogur, Abdi had been in favour of reconciliation with Ahmed al-Sharaa's administration in Damascus, but the PKK leadership in Qandil prevented it.

"The PKK was insisting on waiting for Israel and the US," he added. "Turkey is encouraging the SDF to become a political organisation through its political wing, the Democratic Union Party [PYD], and to participate in the Syrian constitutional process, enter elections, and pursue its struggle through political means."

Its really interesting insight, Qandil seems to be preventing the Syrian Branch from reconciling with Damascus, and is trying to get help from Israel and the US. So Ocalan sending a message to Qandil to disarm should in theory also facilitate these guys allowing the reconciliation in Syria.

This process is apparently going to take months, this who PKK conference is apparently supposed to be held in March. Its a bit too slow for my liking.

And still, there's no way all their communication isn't monitored. And rightly so.

I would love if Greece sent troops. 🙂

Dendias in that speech bad mouthing Turkey was bragging to the American crowd just a few weeks back about Greece's influence and Leadership in the Orthodox World and ability to guide it towards Democracy and Transatlanticism. Lets see him put his money where his mouth is and confront Orthodox Brother Putin. 😁😂

Wow,what a cheapsot.

What do you mean? Dendias said Greece is a leader of the Orthodox World and can guide it towards Democracy, surely that means they need to confront Orthodox Brother Putin who is trying to guide the Orthodox World in a different direction.

Its time to send S-300 and Patriots, along with Greek Troops to Ukraine. If Greece can lead the Orthodox World to Gay Marriage, they can lead it to Democracy. lol
