While I disagree with Dendias and the current government on many things,on this topic as well,there have been problems with Russia. For example,Moscow has been trying to gain more influence in other Orthodox countries and majority non-Orthodox countries that have a significant Eastern Orthodox presence. The Moscow Patriarchate has been trying to,let's say "undermine" the role and importance of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople and do their own thing.
