Turkish Naval Programs

ooof I hope we can see it fire a Ballistic Missile. That would be a significant achievement.

As we said 7 months ago , Turkiye is working on EDAS ( Esnek dikey atım Sistemi ) Flexible vertical launch System with cold launch technology to use for MILDEN class Submarines

It is estimated that MİLDEN will be the first Submarine with a 'Vertical Launch System' in the Turkish Navy's inventory

and Turkiye has already 560+ km TAYFUN Ballistic Missile technology to be modified for SLBM variant

Yes, but for cruise missiles from what I heard, Ballistic Missiles would be next level. Much bigger bays.

First National Attack Submarine: Türkiye Completes STM-500 Pressure Hull Test

The STM500’s pressure hull, a vital component of the submarine, is being showcased at SAHA EXPO 2024, making it the first time a privately-owned Turkish company has manufactured the pressure hull sections of a military Submarine domestically.

small Submarines, due to their nature, will be more difficult to develop because too many subsystems need to be built into small volumes

Mini Submarines are cost effective to manufacture and operate, are of vital importance for us as well for near waters

It may not be possible to achieve the desired result with large Submarines in areas such as the Aegean Sea

ULAQ KAMA unmanned kamikaze Vessel will enter the inventory in 2025

advanced composite material for low RCS

Length : 6 m
Range : 200 nm ( 370 km )
Speed : 50+ knots
Warhead : 200 kg

Due to its small radar cross section and extremely low infrared signature, the possibility of counter-detection is very difficult

ARES Shipyard will be able to deliver more than 100 ULAQ KAMAs in less than a year

ULAQ KAMA is the most effective weapon to strike at hostile intentions

still in sea trials right? hasn't been commissioned yet.

Yes , still in sea trials
TCG HIZIRREIS will be commissioned in 2025

And The TCG MURATREIS currently undergoing dry dock equipping, is slated for commissioning in 2026

Construction of our 4th Submarine TCG AYDINREIS as well as the 5th TCG SEYDI ALI REIS and 6th TCG SELMAN REIS is progressing rapidly

Turkiye aims to commission all Submarines year by year under this project as of 2029

Can Turkiye build an Aircraft Carrier?

The Turkish Aircraft Carrier MUGEM is currently being designed in the Project Design Office. The Ship will expand the force's mission definitions and add new capabilities

1731326153980.jpeg

With the escort Destroyers TCG BERK (D358) and TCG PEYK (D359), Turkiye attempted to build modern Warships with its own resources and capabilities for the first time in the Republic era. After the platforms, the issue of meeting the requirements of the Navy with domestic means remained on the dusty shelves. This long silence was broken after the millennium with the MilGem Project, never to return.

The studies that started with the Ada Class Corvettes continue today with the ISTIF Class Frigates
1731326239231.png

The next platform is the TF-2000 Anti-Air Warfare Destroyers.

200 m TCG DERYA sea replenishment and combat support Ship is another success of the Turkish Naval Industry
1731326859468.jpeg

The Turkish Naval Forces, which gained the capability to carry out a full amphibious operation with aviation elements with TCG ANADOLU has rolled up its sleeves for an Aircraft Carrier with the motto 'The future is in the skies'.
1731326368574.jpeg

It was stated that an Aircraft Carrier is needed to increase the Turkish Navy's deterrence and effectiveness in overseas areas of interest with additional power capability. For this purpose, DPO continues its activities for Turkiye's first Indigenous Aircraft Carrier. The office, which consists entirely of Turkish Navy personnel, has considerable experience, technical infrastructure, and know-how from past projects.

With the MUGEM studies coming to the agenda for the first time, it was a matter of curiosity whether such a ship could be built with domestic facilities. Turkiye has a deep-rooted tradition in shipbuilding. MilGem has extended these values to military platform design, development and construction. The necessary steps had recently been taken for the infrastructure required for the hull construction of the platform.

The construction of all the blocks under the responsibility of ASFAT under a single roof may make it difficult to meet the desired schedule in terms of time. The UK method for HMS Queen Elizabeth (R08) and HMS Prince of Wales (R09) are actually good examples for Turkiye. Assembling the blocks produced in different shipyards in the aforementioned ships in the final dock is a practical and, therefore, faster solution, which may also pave the way for reducing costs.

Aviation Capacity

Turkiye's indigenously developed MUGEM will be able to deploy a total of 50 Aircraft. The number of Hürjet, Anka-3, Kızılelma, TB-3, heavy transport, general purpose and anti-submarine warfare Helicopters can vary depending on the mission requirements. Air-air and air-ground missions can be performed at certain levels with the flexibility provided by Aircraft.

Acceptance tests of the first of the HISAR class offshore patrol vessels, TCG AKHİSAR will begin in December

Istanbul Shipyard Commander Rear Admiral Recep Erdinç Yetkin shared important information about the HISAR class Offshore Patrol Ships currently under construction

-- The national naval gun will be used on the HISAR class OPVs

-- As weapon systems, our surface-to-surface guided missile ATMACA, which was developed nationally by our national vertical launch system (MİDLAS), and our national air defense missiles named HİSAR-O (Hisar-O RF) will also be on this Ship

-- It will serve with 104 personnel

-- We have determined the cruising capacity as 4,500nmi. In other words, our ship will be able to sail from Istanbul to Qatar without refueling and supplying food

Total of 10 HISAR class OPVs will be produced to protect MAVI VATAN

Displacement : 2,300 tonnes
Length : 99.56 m

They really should look at a VLS based system like the ESSM or CAMM type system, maybe something like the Hisar Naval variant.

TCG ANADOLU has the infrastructure suitable for missile-based close air defense systems such as GOKSUR-100N
1732080541041.png

There could be at least 2 x GOKSUR-100N .. (40 missiles )
( The naval version of BOZDOGAN air to air Missile )
1732080043292.png

GOKSUR-100N has high effectiveness and capability of simultaneous multiple engagement with advanced fire control system with AI features and mid-course guidance capability against modern anti-ship threats

1 or 2 x PHALANX CIWS and 2 x GOKSUR-100N would be enough for defensive weapons

Even Royal Navy Queen Elizabeth class Aircraft Carries armed with only 3 x PHALANX CIWS

Yes but its better to have independent air defense for capital ships. B/c the enemy sees them as a prime target, it also gives more leverage with regards to not needing several escort ships as the ship is capable of self defense.

The American carriers are all deployed with their own air defenses for a reason, you can never have too many air defenses.

Also The British Carriers are never deployed alone they are deployed with several other frigates and air defense destroyers that carry CAMM missiles. like the Type 45 and Type 26.

I believe the South Korean also have VLS on their boat.

TCG ANADOLU also never will be deployed alone
TCG ANADOLU will be deployed with ISTIF and modernized MEKO-200TN Frigates that carry 64 ESSM SAMs and 64 HISAR-D RF SAMs

also 4+4 TF-2000 air warfare Destroyers will be produced to escort TCG ANADOLU and 285 m Aircraft Cariier in future

-- Turkish Navy TCG ANADOLU armed with 2 x PHALANX CIWS also 1 x LEVENT or GOKSUR-100N ( 20 Missiles ) will be fitted to TCG ANADOLU instead of 1 x RAM

-- Australian Navy CANBERRA LHD doesnt have any CIWS and RAM

-- Egyptian Navy MISTRAL LHDs armed with 32 STINGER Missiles

-- S.Korean ROKS DOKDO armed with 2 x GOALKEEPER CIWS and 1 x RAM

btw the new Turkish Aircraft Carrier will have 32 VLS to carry 128 HISAR-D RF SAMs in quad pack configuration ..... also 4 x GOKDENIZ 35mm CIWS

yeah I don't think they can add VLS effectively b/c of the Spanish design but I think other non VLS Missile system solutions can be implemented.

Its important to have ships have their own air defense systems b/c of blind spots and saturation attacks. You can never have too much air defense. It also simplifies/provides more options for deployment as its not dependent on another ship and can operate more autonomously and you can have other tasks dedicated to other ships, outside of just air defense for the carrier..

@hyperman Can you rein this constant obnoxious dick measuring?

Ok both of you guys, please no more fighting. keep it calm.

He is doing comparisons between Naval platform, this is a Naval thread, i can't penalize him for that.

I deleted the "lol" part.

@MMM-E you can post, but leave out the snarky lol comments, try not to mock of belittle other countries.

Lets keep it clean guy, try not to fight.
