Türkiye vs Israel - tensions, conflicts and rivalry | Latest News and Updates

I get the point you’re making, but let’s be honest here — there’s very little doubt that Israel would hit Türkiye if it felt it had the opportunity or strategic cover. Hitting Syrian bases is one thing; striking Turkish assets directly is another. But we should never say “never.” The region changes fast, alliances shift, and nobody knows what the next decade looks like.

And that’s exactly why this whole Mecca Pact needs to be judged realistically. If Türkiye cannot even handle a tiny Israel, then what’s the point of forming a grand alliance? It would be embarrassing to talk about regional leadership while being unable to deter or respond to a country that relies heavily on US/Western backing for its operations.

The real question is: can Türkiye deal with Israel in proxy environments — Syria, Libya, the Eastern Mediterranean — where Israel gets indirect support from the US and Europe? Right now, it’s hard to give a confident answer. We just saw them strike Syria and we didn’t respond. That alone tells you where things currently stand.

But in the long run, I’m quietly confident. Türkiye’s defence programmes are moving in the right direction. KAAN, TF‑2000, Hisar/Gökdeniz, early‑warning systems, electronic warfare — all of this needs another five years to fully mature. Once that ecosystem is complete, the balance of power will look very different.

At this minute? It’s complicated.

In five years? A very different story.

That’s why timing matters.
Don't underestimate the military prowess of turkey...what military edge does Israel have over turkey ? Do you believe few F 35s are enough to conquer Turkey? ..... Turkey needs time to consolidate it's presence in Syria and build Syrian army... keep in mind you are developing Syrian army from the scratch....if Israel ever threatens Turkey with nukes you should be rest assured you are covered with Pakistan's unclear Umbrella and it's massive far bigger than the general estimates .

Israel is not a rational player here my brother. It’s BC , Israel will always get help from dear old US. It’s all the time Israel is backed by the US they will carry on doing attacks against others unless US stops its sickening aid and support.

Israelis are desperate and irrational. And also fleeing Israel. There is widespread disenchantment in the Israeli society since the war on Gaza 2023. No nation, no people can such prolonged conflicts and global condemnation without exacting a cost on itself. Israelis had already lost Europe and are rapidly losing its one and only meaningful support, which is America. And thus I see in Israeli media a sense of gloom and doom, and even questioning why Israelis didn't follow the Ben Gurion doctrine of staying within the Israeli 1948 border.
And most of Israel's problems are because of just one person: Netanyahu! The Mofo doesn't die and is in power for decades.

Turkiye and Saudis entire military basically is made up of US and German MILITARY Equipment? Don’t matter how powerful Turkish Military is If Washington and Berlin turns off spares and switches. To it ?

Turkey mostly self sufficient and on track to being fully self sufficient in all domains in a few years.

With regards to current deficiencies, there are also contingencies in place.

You are so correct brother. The sensible ones living in occupied Palestine now called Israel probably number no more than a few thousands know it’s over for Jews around the world no more playing a victim card for them. But their sick entitlement and supremacy values won’t let them accept it though.

Man,I've analyzed this in the past like 3 times...please don't make it do it again.
Your analysis is off, that's the point

Turkey is a big state relatively close to Israel that can impose a blockde on Israel and targets it's airbases and naval bases

Israel is a small state after all

Israels strength is it's control of the U.S not anything else and it's already got the U.S stuck with Iran and no one is in the mood for another war

What I'm trying to say is, do you remember Israel running low on everything during the conflict with Iran and gaza????

Well the U.S and Europe did emergency deliveries of arms to keep Israel afloat

Ask yourself

Look at the map
Look at Turkeys capabilities

Then ask how long can Israel last and what can it do

Our resident Greek here is desperate, the Long Term outlook favors Turkey both on the Israeli front and the Greek front. Both are desperate to disrupt that trajectory by having a conflict sooner rather than later, as both feel that its better to have a conflict now rather than later when the odds are worse. The Turks also understand this matter and are eager to not spoil long term trajectories that the enemy is desperate to disrupt.

Turkey is stronger today than it was 10 years ago or 15 years ago. And will be far stronger in 10 to 15 year from Today. The same cannot be said for the Greeks nor the Israel for various reasons, they may be weaker than today. So they would rather have a fight before than later, as the momentum favors Turkiye.
I'm sorry to tell you,but from the stuff you're writing it's obvious that you're the one who's desperate.

You personally never disaproved of AKP's policies,I take it you're a staunch Erdogan supporter. So it's no surprise to me or anyone else here, that you'll try to downplay Turkey's lack of actual reply against Israel.

Because Erdogan and the Turkish government's rhetoric contradict the actions:

One one hand, big talk of superpower and unrivalled military in the region, even bigger talk of support towards Palestinians...and on the other hand lack of real action towards Israel.

That's not a greek's propaganda or whatever, that's reality. It's out there for everyone to see.

Question 1
When was the last time Turkey actually did something to stop IDF from operating in Syria?

Question 2
When was the last time Turkey actually did some practical to save and protect the Palestinian "brothers"?

Look at this joke,,,,,non country dare to condemn US-Israeli attack on Iran . but ....................

12 countries condemn Israeli strikes on Syrian military base

AMMAN, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Foreign ministers of 12 countries have condemned the Israeli airstrikes targeting the Abu al-Duhur military airport in northwestern Syria, calling the attacks a dangerous escalation and a "flagrant" violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In a joint statement on Friday, the ministers of the countries, including Türkiye, Algeria, Indonesia, Jordan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mauritania, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Somalia, expressed deep concern over the continued targeting of Syrian territory and infrastructure, warning that such actions risk undermining efforts to restore security and stability, rebuild national institutions and address the humanitarian consequences of the country's long-running conflict.

The statement said Israel's continued violations threaten to further escalate regional tensions, undermine regional peace and stability, and weaken respect for international law and the UN Charter.

The ministers called on the international community to adopt a firm and principled position against what they described as ongoing Israeli aggression in Syria and urged concrete measures under international law to end such violations, calling for full compliance with the 1974 Disengagement Agreement and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied Syrian territories.

Syria's state-run Al-Ikhbariya TV reported, citing a military source, that Israeli warplanes carried out eight airstrikes early Tuesday on the runway of the Abu al-Duhur military airport in Idlib province, causing material damage but no casualties.

The Abu al-Duhur military airport, a major Syrian airbase, is situated near routes linking parts of Idlib, Aleppo and Hama provinces.

Following the attack, Syria's foreign affairs authority and the Turkish Foreign Ministry condemned the strikes in separate statements, describing them as violations of Syria's territorial integrity and unity.

Ok and? Where were all these countries when Israel was bombing Assad Syria for 10 years?

From a Turkish perspective we need time, at least 5 years ideally 10.
Which military hardware can be built in 5-10 years? If We are talking about some serious stuff then it can take about 30-40 years at least and that too at Chinese Speed.

Again back to my original point, you see Turks being upset? no. You see Syrians being upset? no. So who are you little bro? who are you upset on behalf of that you feel Turkey is not taking enough action? There is a long term plan and its going and its in effect and going according to plan. Turkey is making moves currently that are not flashy but in 10-15 years things will become far more clear, and the enemy will realize that the water around him and choking him.
