There are several instances where US service personnel stationed in Okinawa have been convicted of crimes by Japanese courts and served their sentences in Japanese prisons.

I don’t think the Japanese government likes having US military forces deployed on their soil, but the US has forced them to accept it, and these American troops have no respect for the local traditions of Japan.

Regardless of that, I don’t think it is ideal to build a mosque on Japanese soil. Local Japanese people won’t tolerate either a mosque or a church on their soil because both of these things are foreign to Japan.

I guess the Japs are still paying back for the Pearl Harbor attack. A nuclear attack against Hiroshima was apparently only the beginning. The Americans sought presence and bars filled with Japanese women. Well they got that for sure.
