I think this is a Gem of an Interview not only about the reality of this conflict--which many anti war analysts like Chas Freeman have been saying--but it is coming from Robert Kagan!!
Oh, I could chuckle about those who thought Iran has lost. I think they should watch it and ponder what Mr. Kagan is saying here. Some people 'project' their biases and wishes too much much here.

Yes, I saw that as one explanation for this video. However, I think the guy was pretty open and forceful about the Iraq War 2003 and he doesn't need to inject further pessimism into the pro war crowd to come up with a video/article like he has written.
You and I disagree about who is ahead in this war so far. I maintain Iran is ahead. We can continue to have our disagreements. Peace!

Yes it is, it’s a routine port visit. SSBNs conduct regular patrols around the world. Has nothing to do with Iran or “desperation.” The USAF conducts regular Minuteman 3 launches. Is that desperation? No, just the US military making its presence known through forward deterrence and testing as they’ve done for decades.
