US Perspective on the Iran - Israel / US War

US President Donald Trump says the US-Iran ceasefire is on “massive life support,” warning the agreement is close to collapse as both sides fail to agree on terms to begin talks to end the conflict.

Hopes for a peace deal on Iran faded after Trump said a ceasefire with Iran was ‘on life support’ as Tehran rejected a US proposal to end the conflict and stuck to a list of demands the U.S. president described as ‘garbage’ https://reut.rs/4nkZBay

JUST IN: PAKISTAN RESPONDS TO CBS REPORT OF STORING IRANIAN AIRCRAFT AT NUR KHAN AIRBASE DURING THE WAR AS MISLEADING

“Official Response to CBS Report on Iranian Aircraft in Pakistan.

Pakistan categorically rejects the CBS News report regarding the presence of Iranian aircraft at Nur Khan Airbase as misleading and sensationalized. Such speculative narratives appear aimed at undermining ongoing efforts for regional stability and peace.

Following the ceasefire and during the initial round of the Islamabad Talks, a number of aircraft from Iran and the United States arrived in Pakistan to facilitate the movement of diplomatic personnel, security teams, and administrative staff associated with the talks process. Some aircraft and support personnel remained temporarily in Pakistan in anticipation of subsequent rounds of engagement.

Although formal negotiations have not yet resumed, senior-level diplomatic exchanges have continued. In this context, visits by the Iranian Foreign Minister to Islamabad were facilitated through the existing logistical and administrative arrangements.

The Iranian aircraft currently parked in Pakistan were arrived during the ceasefire period and bear no linkage whatsoever to any military contingency or preservation arrangement. Assertions suggesting otherwise are speculative, misleading, and entirely detached from the factual context.

Pakistan has consistently acted as an impartial, constructive, and responsible facilitator in support of dialogue and de-escalation. In line with this role, Pakistan has extended routine logistical and administrative support where required, while maintaining full transparency and regular communication with all relevant parties.

Pakistan remains committed to supporting all sincere efforts aimed at promoting dialogue, reducing tensions, and advancing regional and global peace, stability, and security.”

CBS, whose owner Larry Ellison is the biggest donor to the Israeli Occupation Forces, and editor-in-chief Bari Weiss is an ardent pro-Israel voice has reported that Pakistan is playing double game by shielding Iranian military aircraft.

The report then drifts to "reveal" how Pakistan is growing closer to China. This report came in conjunction with another saying Pakistan often "does not convey Trump's displeasure to Iran" and "tends to paint positive picture of negotiations."

It is not for Pakistan to convey Trump's displeasure or present a candid view of Iranian positions. Pakistan just conveys messages. The task of interpretation and gleaning the other party's thinking belongs to the concerned parties themselves, who are not new to negotiations and have already met to get a better sense of each other's perspective.

The sleight here is familiar and much easier to grasp if viewed alongside Netanyahu's mild reference to Pakistan in his recent CBS 60 Minutes interview, where he blames social media for driving a wedge between Israel and the US. After failing to force Saudi Arabia into the war despite concerted false reporting about Saudi's role, the backup plan of blemishing the mediator has been activated. They also cannot outright bomb mediator like Pakistan as they did with Qatar.

The aim behind this sabotage is not hard to guess. The MAGA core is split on war, with the anti-war camp led by Tucker, Fuentes, and Kelly holding a decisive edge over the pro war camp. The pro war intelligentsia in DC increasingly sees where Netanyahu's war has led the US. There is no better example than Robert Kagan in The Atlantic. And perhaps biggest of all, Trump himself is unwilling to be dragged any further, best shown by his indefinite ceasefire extension and backing of Saudi and Pakistani efforts to help restore some sort of status quo ante bellum.

Not only has Netanyahu's regime change bet failed and Iran increasingly emerged as the ultimate arbiter of power in the Middle East, but his chances of going to jail have multiplied with looming defeat in approaching Israeli elections. So this current, and near future, media cacophony against Pakistan has to be viewed in its right context.

This is a normal patrol. Your “desperation” take is almost as stupid as when you insisted the Ford carrier was “deserting” combat.

no it's not. it's very rare for US SSBNs to go into Mediterranean let alone putting on a media display like this, such moves usually carry political messages especially since Trump has issued ambiguous nuclear blackmails on Iran, multiple times

there's a good reason for nuclear powers not to play this card offen unless their situation is truly desperate. even after losing over 200,000 soldiers in Ukraine, Putin never made such nuclear threats on Kiev
