US Political News and Trump’s China visit

The U.S. economy is at serious risk from Trump's proposed economic policies, especially his trade war and mass deportation plans, particularly for individuals who have lived here for many years. These measures will result in slower economic growth and higher inflation, according to economists from organizations like the Peterson Institute, Moody's, and Goldman Sachs. For example, Trump's proposal to impose a 10% uniform tariff on imports may result in higher pricing for consumers and businesses alike and probably a trade war with the entire world. Instead of stimulating economic activity, this protectionist strategy is likely to hinder it.

His proposed mass deportation tactics are expected to cause significant labor shortages across the United States, harming all businesses, particularly small and medium-sized businesses. As a small business owner, I am highly aware of the workforce shortages that already exist in our industry. Furthermore, Trump's hostility to legal immigration exacerbates these issues.

Steve Rattner: Trump’s mass deportation and trade war plans will tank the economy

Tramp has a degree in economics. Kamala knows nothing about economy.

So why, for the love of God, was Kamala held back from being her own candidate. She should have had a real platform of change. She looks like the establishment candidate. The continue things as they are candidate.

Most democrats and independents whom Biden last go around won, don’t expect much. But come on. We know how bad Trump is, and the party didn’t listen to the simple demands of the independents.

Voters wants FAIRNESS; if We live by the rules we should be better off in 4 years. Granted it’s a tough job, but at least have a realistic plan to move the needle. Biden’s basement strategy won’t work this time around. Last time Trump was dumb on Covid, and take it from those of us on the frontline, we we’re frustrated with how Trump was dealing with the pandemic (Biden went overboard for a while but at least we eased off pandemic policies in some what of a reasonable manner).

Biden should have focused on housing after the 2022 midterms. Something to keep housing costs down. If your letting in more immigrants have plan to get them into housing and work so that cost of living doesn’t spike so much.

And then there is the Genocide. Biden looks like he did basically what Trump would have done but with a velvet glove and happy talk of negotiations that never materialized. Kamala looks set to continue the same.

Also, much of the republican talk of Trump is a shoe in could just be hype like the 2022 talk of a red wave. But Kamala needs to do some real talk to win voters back.

With all due respect, I’m waiting Madam Vice President.

P.s. there are Pakistani Americans voting for Trump specifically because they think he will help get IK out of jail.

Kamala could press the Pakistani government to release IK, and that could sway the tens of thousands of Pakistani voters in the swing states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina. Just saying. Those margins maybe key when every vote counts.

In all fairness, she didn't have much time to prepare her campaign. She was thrust into this role at the last minute.

A VP's job is basically to stay awake just in case.

Kamala is not as charismatic as Hillary.

If she wants to win she has to figure out how she differs and at least give the public an idea where things could change. Right now it’s a vote between Biden’s second term in all but name or a return to a Trump government with all the uncertainties that holds.

That's probably the first time I have read the word charismatic and Hillary in the same sentence.

Kamala is not as polarizing as Hillary.

Biden is a terminally senile old goat who is running on fumes.

Harris is much more energetic, has a history of standing up for human rights (Kashmir), and has a better relationship with the pro-Palestine AOC crowd than Biden does.

The choice is not between Biden and Harris, but Trump and Harris. On balance, I believe that empowering the Democratic party, warts and all, is the way forward for the Muslim community in relation to most domestic and international issues.

Mass deportations = Legals and USC working at a minimum wage and extremely harsh jobs - Drive prices up for suppliers offsetting the new pay rate as well as no-shows after a week.

Tariffs = Increases costs for consumers due to 'at home' production. Causes retaliatory tariffs, and supply chain disruptions - already seen a taste of that post-COVID.

But that's where we lose people who cannot think logically.

And let's be honest here, it's not about 'illegals', never was but any migrants, esp brown people. Given that they can be a lot more efficient in work be it low or high-paying jobs.

There is an identity crisis in Europe, Canada, and now US too for insecure whites and many brown morons here jump on that train thinking voting for Trump somehow removes them from that immigrant pool - makes them more white.

The democrat party takes the Muslim and Arab community for granted, the way they have been doing to African Americans and Latinos.

In 18 years the country will be majority minority if current trends continue. With the way some social issues have swung too far to left, in ways large parts of minorities feel uncomfortable with, they have to flex their electoral influence to send a signal to the democrat elders stuck in the 90s.

I agree with you 100% but suggest the way forward is from the inside. The US political system is rigged for a two party process and, of the two parties in play, the only option is the Democratic party.

We need to accept certain realities of the US political process and work within that framework instead of fantasizing about third party wins which will never happen.

P.S. As I wrote elsewhere, if people believe the Green party is free of Zionist control, then that is only because the Zionists don't want to waste their resources. If the Green party ever becomes a credible force to influence foreign policy, you can bet your bottom dollar it will be brought under Zionist control.

Tariffs is a must for the US to be able to compete. Europe, China, South Korea, Japan have extremely high tariffs. Which is why you don't have any American cars in those places.

And what happens when you have higher prices in the US for consumers?

Higher tariffs can replace income taxes. It also encourages hiring domestics for production which is good for job growth.

LOL....replace income taxes. This line alone tells us how ill-informed you are.

US-based companies are not looking forward to increasing their OP-EX.

BTW, did the Canadian govt. take economic advice from you to end up in the horrid situation they are in right now??

The US is too extremist compared to the rest of the world. The rest of the world restricts abortion to less than 9 months gestation. The US allows abortion at 9 months gestation. The rest of the world has heavy tariffs to protect domestics. The US has no tariffs.

I don't like extremism. I like moderates.

I did say being a demo, I am against abortion. However, in a democracy, more vote towards vs against win. If you don't like how we run things here, why do you care so much? Why don't you go handle the migrant crisis happening right now in Canada?

You didn't answer why would US companies want to increase their expenditure/ OP-EX. What makes you think income tax that has never been replaced, will?

Something I noticed, the loudest and most idiotic mouths for Trump here are the ones that cant even vote in US elections :ROFLMAO:
