Considering the trend going into November, it wouldn’t make him pro-oligarch, but building a stronger position to negotiate from come 2029.
Not just the house, but the senate maybe in play come the midterms.
But having said that, the perception (and fact) of California’s poor fiscal management and unnecessary overspending means Newsom will have to climb the equivalent of Bradford street in San Francisco to change perceptions that he would manage the federal budget well, and any new taxes. This is where other interests can keep the Dems in check.
