But they should have had their life choices respected within the law of course. By and large they were. I knew an 80 year old that still lived in the apartment building she was born in. She owned the building and we respected her as one of the ladies of the neighborhood. In New York, though everyone basically kept to themselves by and large and hung out with whomever they made friends with, kids and adults alike.

What state or city in the US have the most social and intermingling vibe?

I spoke with a american on visit in Oslo long ago. He had lived in several US cities and liked Chicago the most.

The South Side of Chicago is real fun, more so at night, with its "special" vibes. :D

Excellent idea. And free healthcare too. Wonderful ideas. USA is so stupid not to see that how easy it is to become a true dream country. :D

Japan has gun control, and they have very little gun related crime.
 
US gunpolicy probably hangs back from the period in its early history with vast frontier territory.

And they have inherent distrust of governments. It is probably a good thing since it is quite novel in the human history. Throughout the history and everywhere else on this planet, people are trained to trust their government.

That is natural. Everyone is afraid of those who hold guns. To distrust your government, you need a gun in your hands, too.

I’m bias as a New Yorker and would say it’s New York. So I’m probably not the best person. I factor in how most people, regardless of class, take the subway. It’s the real common ground in the city.
