Dude seriously civilians use this tech on their boats

Crews would need to be lowered down to the waterline, sand off the rust, put on two coats of rust-preventative primer and then two coats of naval gray paint, according to Schuster.

“Based on what I am seeing, you are looking at about 30 days of preservation work to remove all the rust,” he said.

Lincoln isn't going back to sea/combat operations it was supposed to end its deployment months ago it will now come home to port for likely a year unless an emergency arises.

USS Vinson is deploying this year after it just did the longest deployment for a carrier, before Lincoln of course, and now it's going out to sea again likely combat operations.

I think Chinese Aircraft Carrier should come for a port call to Gwadar Pakistan. That would be a sight to watch and it will also give PLAN the exposure to long duration missions.

One of the major reasons why US navy ships have so much rust is because they moved away from lead-based paint.

This is normal, and expected alongside a long deployment. I do think people are making more of the rust look than they should.

Other navies like China may well still be using lead based paint, which is more effective against this type of rust look.

The American elites make all the money while the poor americans back home cheer for joy when america steals money from places like Iraq or venezuela yet they do not benefit at all. Its an interesting sociology topic on maybe the poor and helpless living vicariously through the lives of others.

LOL! You mean the Chinese elites made all the money from like 1950 to 1990 while most of China was relegated to being farmers while the rest of the world had moved on.

Even today while aircraft carriers show prestige 20-24% of the Chinese working population is still stuck in the simple farming life with many behind oxen plows in terraced rice fields while other countries like the US are a mere 1 to 2%.

I don't think that rust matter that much, but what matter is the fire power this AC carries with it. Rust or no rust on Aircraft carrier but the fighter planes, and bombs will do the same damge, that's what matters most.
