The Americans are not going to wait for China to be ready to wage war. They will do it now, before China's advancements take hold and while the USA holds the advantage. War is coming to China very soon. Iran will be next, and then China. Russia has been neutered via Ukraine already.

Protocols/laws can safe China and Russia, it's just a matter of that, not a military question. Kidnapping president, attacking capital, trying to overthrowing the state, means instant nuclear response. Let the parliament agree with this law and then it's done.

I didn't see a sustained SEAD/DEAD campaign or any evidence the s-300s were hit, let alone SHORAD systems and MANPADs which could all take down helicopters

SAMs can be neutralized within minutes if their locations were mapped out that is likely what happened, there is atleast one video of explosion with secondaries which could suggest a SAM system being destroyed, the bigger question should be about the lack of MANPADS which could suggest perhaps the Venezuelan military let it happen.
