Venezuela - US Conflict: News, Updates

Have the three super powers? Russia, USA and China agreed to carve up the world between them.
That's maybe trumps wish, but it has not worked out. He still seeks rivalry agianst China and still has not solved Ukraine-Russia conflict to reset Russia-US relation. He also distanced India from US. I don't see any evindence which shows agreement between big powers to carve up and create a new order.

There are probably enough poor (and many non-white) Venezuelans that think their standard of living are about to sharply decline to if not fight, maintain chaos and prevent another regime from taking over. A kind of Libya situation.
The problem is, they only lifted Maduro. No one else, the entire government structure, bar Maduro, is untouched, the Defence Minister is still in Venezuela, and the Vice President was believed to be in Russia. None of the military post (other than in the flight path, as far as I know) was untouched, while none of the opposition is in Venezuela.

As I said before, if Trump wanted to start a coup, it's an odd way and an odd time for doing so.

This would do nothing to Venezuela unless there are already stuff in motion and we didn't know, and unless US started invading the place now, I don't think this will do anything to the current regime.

This will not end peacefully DT is just a line dumb US president . Meddling in other countries politics , we heard exactly the same propaganda after the topping of Saddam Hussain about how the people would welcome regime change etc and look what happened.
The question is what can deter it? What can anyone do about it?

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that “the people of Venezuela must have a chance for a normal life, security, prosperity, and human dignity,” writing on X that his country had not recognized Maduro’s legitimacy following “rigged elections and violence against protestors.” “Thank you to everyone around the world who helps to protect life,” he posted.
That's the funniest load of codswallop I read all day.

Ukraine should simply stay silent, as USA's actions are no different from Russia's.

This whole world needs peace after a New Year's Eve, so the USA wants more wars and chaos around the world ?

Can your USA take the government out of North Korea or Russia, or China. Please go if you can , but we know Americans are a hypocrite. Lesson to learn here my friend is I put to you bluntly is to have F-**king Nuclear weapons.
The US, the USSR and China were on the same side in WWII, and the post-WWII world order made it feasible for these countries to become a formidable nuclear power. North Korea's luck shined because of its close proximity to China. The US ignored North Korea after liberating South Korea in the Korean War. But Trump threatened to destroy North Korea when Kim thought he could bully Trump back in 2017. The American military buildup commenced in the region but China and Singapore intervened and told Kim to sit down. Other countries such as Iraq, Libya, Syria and Iran were not so lucky - each was trying to build the bomb and all can see how that worked out. Iran's explosive experience is recent. The world order has changed. New nuclear powers are not welcome. Even a regional nuclear power needs to tread carefully.

Focus should be on Maduro's geopolitics.

💯 this,
Really want to do headbutt to our babus, and wanna make reforms to our sof if they are really serious about Afg/terrorism
I really wished the night the US left Bagram, PAF C-130s fly into Bagram, within an hour and SSGs had picked up all the TLP guys, right from their cages. Carting them straight to interrogation and helping to breakdown the TLP networks.

We have to give credit to Trump, that this is how you employ power. Make a bold move when you know no one will oppose you or have enough time to organize a counter move.

This is an act of war between the US and Venezuela......

This is basically an intercontinental kidnapping using the armed force of the United States. I am pretty sure if any one of the Chinook and Gunship (some say it's Viper, some said it's Apache) were shot down, those pilots and crew won't get the Geneva Convention Protection, and they would be tried under Venezuelan law as common criminals.......

This is 100% illegal under international law. I don't think there are any leeway to jsutify it any other way
So I guess we are officially in a era where power matters, and international law be damned ? now this is for those who always say I criticize USA, this is again a Foreign policy matter and not USA internal issue hence I am commenting on it. But yeah I disagree with what USA did, it further devalue US position in Global standing and give excuse to others to behave like that, Americans fear China will take Taiwan but USA has bombed several countries all without any UNSC and international law.

My thoughts too. Yes, Might is Right has been the way the world has worked but there was some semblance of world order after World War II where America itself played a great role in various UN and non UN international organizations and even generally tried to get the UNSC approvals. Now, slapping a charge on a foreign govt's leader in a local US Court and then grabbing that guy from his bedroom along with this wife??
