In the year of 1947, India and Pakistan became dominions, partially gaining their independence. Right after that, they had their first war over Kashmir, but the conflict could have escalated into a total war, including East Pakistan, Hyderabad, and other minor states, which has the potential to reshare how the Cold War in Asia plays out. This is the premise of today’s video.

As to be neutral and balanced, I will give you two endings, one where Pakistan wins, and another where India is victorious. Let me show you what I came up with!

▬ Contents of this video
00:00 - Video Intro
00:32 - Collapse of the British Raj
03:13 - The Remaining Princely States
07:08 - Explaining Jammu and Kashmir
09:04 - British Raj's Assets After Partition
10:25 - Escalation of the War
12:16 - Victorious India Ending
22:02 - Victorious Pakistan Ending

Neither Junagadh nor Hyderabad was bordering Pakistan they were surrounded by India.

That said the Indian independence movement and the general resentment over British rule rendered the princely states weak. Over 500 princely states and all of them were British subjects, they had not much power over their subjects which resulted in India usurping their kingdoms. The kings were titular rulers under the British crown and the public identified with Independence movement from British rule. Gandhi and other local INC leaders were responsible for this.

Millions died - millions uprooted - people lost their lands and livelihoods. People had their lives turned upside down.
The British scum left a complete mess and the split was done like almost on purpose - without due process or care resulting in permanent scars.

I dont think thrre was any logic to any of these demands. Some peop,e looked at it like an opportunistic free for all. Thankfully patel and nehru uprooted all old monarchies, yhrew them out and condolidated the indian empire. It needs to expand more.

The second most important act was ending Privy purse (IG govt). Leeching off the revenue and enjoying wealth.

Apparently his good for nothing son got depressed because we threw him out and he couldnt steal money like his father. Good riddance in an anonymous death.
