Why India persists on Tejas mk 2

India will be shooting it's own jets like in 2019 India–Pakistan border skirmishes. 5 awacs, no bombers, and an aging fleet. Sheesh. Forget about 2 fronts war. Even paf is giving iaf a run for its money.

I am confident as of now, with no Meteor in service with IAF yet and only 5 AWACS (3 of them aging), PAF could defeat IAF.

Pl-15 is an answer to meteor. I'm not sure why India doesn't buy more awacs.there should be at least 50 kj-500 produced, then 11 kj-200,5-10 kj-600,and kj-2000. 5 awacs from India is no match against 9 from Pakistan let alone china lol

Bruh tejas crashed because of engine seizure, then there's su-30mki , and last but not least su-30 and mirage 2000 collision. All in the past year. Isn't the mig-21 known as a flying coffin as well. Thank God the pilots are safe .1724926054853.png

Atleast we don't hide the news of crash.

I don't think U.S. will ever agree to integrate American missiles with Tejas, since India had to go through intense negotiations just to obtain a non-lethal system like engine.

It's a hypothetical scenario. Why would the IAF ask the US for integration of any missile when it has indigenous, Israeli and French options?

BTW, JDAM-ER is integrated on the Tejas Mk1 itself. And American CBU-87 cluster bombs and Harpoon AShM are integrated on the IAF's Jaguars. So if there is a requirement to integrate any particular weapon with any IAF type, it will be taken up at that time. But of course, integration of guided missiles is much more complex.

Oh ok . A war between two sides will most likely result in a nuclear exchange.

No it won't. Neither side is loony enough to want to lose millions of it's citizens. There was a lot of talk that after the 1996 nuclear tests, there could be no more conventional conflicts. Then Kargil happened in 1999, which was almost a full blown war. And then the skirmishes between the IAF and PAF.
