Yarmook-Class Corvette/OPV | Updates & Discussion

‘海快一号 Seafast One’. Huangpu Shipyard, China
In the absence of a national programme, the shipyard designed and built it itself. It is China's first high-speed official law enforcement vessel verification test vessel. It adopts a new water jet propulsion system and many other advanced ship technologies. Displacement 2000t~3000t

Launched and outfitted in 2018, followed by sea trials. It belongs to the shipyard's self-made project, which is not recognised by the Chinese Marine Police, and is currently docked at the shipyard, where it has been idle.

Pakistan can try to communicate with the relevant organisations to buy this more advanced official ship over. It can be used directly as an official ship or modified to become a Pakistan Navy warship. This is an idle official ship that has completed construction and should be very cheap.

Nice ship could be used as light frigate - resembles sword class
seems like great suggestion
  • 4-6 anti ship missiles (Local Missiles)
  • CIWIZ addition
  • Conventional Gun at front
  • Flying Drone or Helicopter at read for anti sub

Seems like a capable support ship

Since Pakistan's navy is critically low on ships , VLS is a luxury
Just grab a unit

A unit like this can even , be a companion ship for Type 054A/P frigates

Pakistan should pair up the big ship with 2 smaller support units
as a general practice a force multiplier

No need for experimentations. We have OPVs from Damen which are more advanced & effective vessels. Furthermore, 4- more ships may join our Navy in future but with higher displacement & more capabilities. So focus on OPVs/ Missile Corvette program.

Worth picking up and modifying as a OPV
Same ship as F22P frigate just need the systems installed and colored

Not a chance in Pakistan navy but can be bought by Pakistan Maritime Security Agency ( PN equivalent of coast guard).

Not possible. Because that is contradictory to Pakistan navy's approach. Think how Pakistan navy's leadership see things. Pakistan Navy's leadership do not feel any urgency at all to grab any unit whichever is available and put missiles on it. PN has 2 first batch Yarmooks for 4 years now. These Yarmooks have mounts for SSMs but Navy has still not installed SSMs in yarmooks for more than 4 years. There were no Tughrils, Babur or any other ship when Yarmooks were added so PN was very low on missile capable ships but it still didn't felt any urgency to do that. How you come to conclusion that they are ready to grab any unit now when they already got more modern ships and still many Ships that needs to be armed yet.
