Yemen Civil War News and Discussion.. an evolving situation

You really think that financial issue will do jack to Israel? they have people in US that can throw few hundred billions in bailout if they really need it, like I said Houthis Missiles were practically useless against Israel.

Do you really want to know what I think... I shared that link exactly because they're sourcing funds...
Chip in.

Is that a gotcha?
Tell me why they're called Houthis in the first place?
Are all members of the tribe?
The military alone of 350,000 or the population under their domain of almost 30 million?
Are they all Houthi?

So, what mandate do Saudis have in perpetuating this civil war?

I don't understand your fist part or what you're trying to ask. The Houthis are a small clan in Yemen, yes a very small minority, that is also leading a political/militia movement which has conquered majority of Yemens population through force with the help of Iran. Obviously the population they control are not all Houthis or even remotely close to being the majority of it either.

Neither Saudi or Iran have a mandate, they both are interfering in the civil war on opposing sides to further their interests, although this will affect Saudi directly far more than Iran, since they share borders with them.

I don't disagree with you in gest as a rational response... however, Houthis didn't start as a tribal movement but a zaidi revival movement... hence their members.
It is awfully simplistic to say that they're in power because of Iran. As Saudis, a neighbor, not only has expended more resources but played too many cards both political and military and they still lost Sana'a. Where else can Iran pull this off... not even in Iraq with larger Shi'i population. And losing in Syria while onside to the government in power.
So, not totally accurate.

Yemeni forces announce the neutralization of 512 Houthi elements and leaders during the past 24 hours.

The houthis have 17 million sympathisers in Yemen..some for ideology, some for money...etc

Saudi Arabia has a mandate since it was asked by the legitimate government for help..I ran can't have a mandate to support the houthi..a recognized terrorist group..

Al-Alimi Vows to End the Houthi Coup:

• Houthi escalation will not stop Operation Dawn of Yemen from achieving its objectives.

• Targeting airports and civilian facilities will not deter the armed forces from continuing the battle to restore the state.

• The operation will continue until the coup is ended and state authority is established over all Yemeni territory.

• Houthi attempts to terrorize civilians will not enable them to impose their will or escape accountability.

• Protecting citizens and deterring sources of threat is a responsibility that the state will undertake with utmost resolve.

• The battle to restore state institutions will continue with the support of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy.
