There was hardly any Saudi Arabian military presence in Northwestern Yemen other than special forces and conquered border towns on the Yemeni side. On the other hand it was not difficult to remove the Houthis from 50% of the other part of Yemen that they USED to control, Aden included. Northwestern Yemen is after all the heartland of the Zaydis.IIRC, the Brits had a tough go of it as did you (the Saudis).
Personally, I hope we don't send troops in including Special Forces.
This was a deliberate choice as it would be senseless (too many casualties) and not worth it. The Sudanese troops were the ones most actively engaged on that front. It is for the very same reason that USA/UK/Israel/others refuse to send troops on the ground.
Anyway it can be done, Arabs/Hejazis from modern-day KSA conquered Yemen on numerous occasions (during the Islamic conquests, in pre-Islamic times and post-Islamic times as well), First and Second Saudi states even ruled large areas of Yemen. Not to mention that there was a Saudi-Yemeni war for Najran, Jazan and Asir that KSA won in 1934 with Yemeni claims on those provinces/lands ending permanently.

Have in mind that those areas where ruled by separate kingdoms, imamates, sultanates etc. In reality the division Southern KSA and Northern Yemen are a continuation of the same greater region. It is like the areas between the US and Mexico that during the Spanish Empire was inhabited by the same Mestizo/Spanish origin people mixed with local natives. The fixed borders came much later.
Anyway Yemen is an incredibly beautiful country with a very rich culture and some of the world's oldest civilizations. The architecture is unique worldwide and the cuisine is one of the best in the world and shares much in common with Saudi Arabian. Most Saudi Arabians and Yemenis have nothing but love towards each other even the Northern Yemenis (that we are closest to). Ironically Yemeni Jews are one of the largest ethnic groups in Israel proper and the fastest growing.
BTW I once visited a great Yemeni restaurant in Phoenix. You should give the food a try, I bet that you will not be disappointed.
