Do we even have them? I heard we got one, even saw in a exercise not long ago but only one can be seen.

I would assume over the next 5-10 years we're to see development of such potent anti-drone systems fitted onto every high value asset that the drone threat to these would be considered negligible, therefore, a need for big assets like combat helicopters continues like it is. 🤔
But it is not just the threat to the platform itself.

The efficacy of the drone fleet is in its ability to destroy the targets which for the past 5 decades were considered to be the preserve of the attack helicopter.

Why field an expensive platform with manned crews when one-way, loitering Kamikaze drones pack as much or more power than the Hellfire missile?

I think we will see significant rethinking on such investments in the coming years/decades.

As it is, nobody is marketing their "next-generation" of attack helicopter platform.

I saw a picture of 3 in one of our cantonments/training ranges (I could not tell where they were but it was certainly Pakistan).
I don't need to know the location, as long as we are getting them and they are being put to good use is fine by me :) hopefully we will see some good gun cam videos from it smoking TTP/TTA bast@rds.

We do have them... But you know who has cramps about them so less we say about them the better.

I know what you're saying.

My point is, currently drones are considered a cheaper option simply because anti-drone systems are not big as the drones themselves.

But once we start seeing anti-drone systems in large numbers as well as new generation radars that can easily detect drones, then the value and the employment of the "cheap" drone will reduce considerably.

I am under the impression that this drone warfare won't last long.

It's currently popular because it's all about countries having drones Vs countries not having drones while the anti-drone systems are not a big thing yet.

No i didn't miss that, i remember seeing that video and Asim Munir inspecting, what I wanted to know if they start coming in numbers or there is still some sort of works that needs to be done before final deliveries, or there is no delay. Cause they can be very useful for taking out TTP/TTA and BLA.

Yes, I meant to say the photo was from Pakistan. Having 3 on a flight-line means testing at scale etc. The only issue is the timeframe. What if it was tested and then decided not to pursue etc? Although flying it at the parade was indicative of Pakistan going for it. (Plus the induction ceremony...thank you Bratva for the reminder!)

I know PA initially got them and then returned with lots of request for modification based on PA requirements and testing in various climate, then there was nothing for a long time, after that we saw induction ceremony then we see 1 flying in one of the drone warfare exercise after that again nothing, so i was like did we find more problems and send it back haha
