Russian Navy

And how many are in service today? And kilo is nothing but border petrol vessel not a blue water sub
You're kidding, right?
Do you consider the 3,950-ton full-load Kilo 3 class a coastal submarine?
If you look at the displacement of most conventional submarines, will they all be coastal, including the Japanese ones?

Instead of what you think, the Kilo class proves every day that they are truly blue-water submarines.

So if we follow the approach of evaluating only nuclear-powered submarines, they're for blue waters!

I repeat, I hope you're joking.

Tell me how many new subs they have? Mostly they have old Soviet era junk subs

And do you know what? USN has no bombers at all only USAF has strategic bombers and how do you know that Russian bombers are more modern than US bombers?

Proportionally Russian SSBNs are more modern than Ohio class.

Even the Delta 4s were considered formidable quiet platforms.

Of course the Russian economy can't support many boats.

Also USN and Russian Navy missions are different.

Non-nuclear Russian boats ARE a factor.

Also, one can argue the Russians have done good job revamping their fleet.

Putin allocating serious resources to their nuclear sub plans.

No I'm serious, no AIP system to recharge its batteries only snorkel it has hence easy for detection/target for MPA aircraft, at best I would say kilo is green water sub

@Viet

This is a cool submarine having very capable armament.

RU POV: Russia officially unveiled its new nuclear submarine, Khabarovsk. This submarine is capable of launching six Poseidon nuclear torpedoes.
