Yes, free and fair elections indeed are a good barometer.

However, it is also reasonable to expect that a truly popular mandate with widespread support cannot really be suppressed, as we have seen that time and again in human history.

Even if we accept that a popular mandate was stolen, just how popular was it really when there has been no widespread protests despite several attempt by PTI to do exactly that?

Elections = support.

Appetite for protests highly depends on people’s feeling of security that their right to protest will be guaranteed. In Pakistan its quite evident, protesters will be shot at, if the ruling government doesn’t like it.

Good for everyone that PTI supporters don’t take to the streets while the security forces do not have to bring out live rounds. Last November turned out ugly.

IK did not, but by claiming what it contained, he either lied, or he violated the Official Secrets Act. Either way, he does not come out looking good at all, either as a liar or a criminal.

What he's saying is where is the official copy, nobody has it since it's secret. This means everything can be made up or twisted. In another words their is no cipher.
