They might just have taken the number from J-5 and then added 1 to the name.

The only aircraft model in China that has suffered losses exceeding 300 is the J-2 (MIG-15).

In the Korean War, China shot down 1300 to 1600 American fighter jets, lost 345 J-2 (MIG-15) and approximately 200 pilots.

I guess this Indian mistook the Chinese MIG-15 for the J-15.

@clutch

Independent of what relationship that UAE may have or not with Israel, there is a massive economic relationship between UAE and IND. Which will always create a somewhat pro IND tilt in UAE diplomacy.

Regards

Yes.. that is 100% correct. These Sheikhs are unreliable partners vis-a-vis Pakistan. In a prolonged conflict between Pakistan and India and if India really presses UAE, UAE will side with India. Pakistanis need to forget about any "brotherly" relationship with UAE and focus on making itself indispensable. Geopolitics works along the lines of self-interest not religious-bonds (for now).

During the Korean War air campaign, the US suffered 2,714 aircraft destroyed and 4,055 missing personnel killed. The circumstances of air losses in the Korean War drive much of the on-going research focus. .

The US lost 2,714 aircraft, with 1,841 of those being combat casualties, though this figure includes all types of aircraft, not just jets.

damn you weren't kidding ,

No Russian jets till 2030 atleast. Nobody is going to sell Mirages any time soon and if they do it's not gonna be the latest model or be on the edge of retirement. Grippen does not suit India and it's strategic needs at all, so not grateful but understandable. For India the F-16 was the better option. KF-21 is surely a project, maybe South Koreans would want in the Indian rupee. Jokes aside, it's still a very heavily US influenced program so impossible for India to even sniff it. So India basically have no choice but to work with France or suck the boots of the US, while Pakistan has already built up enough relations to get US equivalent equipments from 2030(Chinese are still a bit off) while having a growing military aerospace sector. So Indians are in a tight corner not us, they can't get the best non-US fighters as they all come from China while we can.

Good post.
I believe, after watching cautious Pakistani analysts, that Pakistan is several years ahead of India in the fighter jets game and that India's deep pockets are not going to help India against Pakistan into the foreseeable future. And more pertinent to this thread: The crash of the Tejas is not going to help India sell it to eager buyers overseas, to say the least. This crash, when seen in the backdrop of the India-Pakistan conflict of May 2025 and subsequent narrative/events, is a huge disaster for India.

That‘s pathetic to think he lacked skill or was not well trained, he was an experienced pilot well prepared for such demo flights and also it was not this one leaking, but the Tejas from the static display which was another Aircraft.

As such I think you should stop spinning stupid stories by overinterpreting any things, when the Most likely reason was just an error.

India definitely has the worst record for the most Air Force aircraft lost. India crashes everything I never seen a country crash so many planes it could be a 787 it could be be a military plane no problem india will crash it.

in the clip, look at the "col Fasih Ahmed" trying to lickup the hindutva and trying to prove his great loyalty to them, seems more angered than the others in the program.....typical indian muslim. Has a great hatred for Pakistan.

LOL

Are you questioning China's aircraft loss data? Has the US side released how many Chinese fighter jets they shot down?

Very predictable. Heck, I wouldn’t be surprise the Armenians would not want the Indians to upgrade their Sukhois, afraid Indians could screw up functional jets. Armenians might be better off going for ex-French Air Force mirage 2000s with a modest upgrade.
