Iranian Missiles | News and Discussions

not new and not used against Israel to any effect

Surface launched cruise missile would not work against layered AD from 1500 KM away, unless Air launched from close to enemy borders and are low RCS or high-supersonic to evade AD. I guess they understood it in TP1 so did not waste the arsenal.

You cannot Fuel then store Liquid fueled Ballistic missiles due to the corrosive nature of the fuel. There were reports that Iran was developing a Gel type fuel that would allow fueled missiles to be stored safely.

we haven't seen much from the new commander of the IRGC-ASF (Majid Mousavi) since he took command in June

that is a good sign. let him work behind the scenes rather than talk to the media too much. the results should do the talking for him.

Mousavi was Hajizadeh's deputy since 2009, so he will have a very deep understanding of the IRGC-ASF and is the most suitable candidate to replace Hajizadeh.

Abdolrahim Mousavi, former Chief of Staff of the Iranian Army, is the new Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces. It is unfortunate that this Mousavi dismissed reports of Israel preparing to strike Iran in May 2025 as "bluster". Hajizadeh also said there is no risk of an Israeli attack in the months before the war and his martyrdom.

His CV is already very good considering he literally led the reciprocating strikes for 12 days through worlds most layered Air defence after all his bosses were gone. He did not let the force be deterred for a second. Thats the most important factor in a war that highly equipped first world enemy is absolutely failing to subdue the force into submission despite having a superpower as an involved ally.

Hajizadeh was highly efficient commander but man was noisy as hell, he loved presentations in media. Mousavi seems like a quite killer type. IRGCASF is lucky in that way, they had capable commanders, educated engineers and huge budget to do whatever they wanted and they delivered it. We know they have somewhere like 6-20 Billion USD at their disposal right now (current and Khamenei ordered budget) yet they are totally quiet, shows force is maturing up fast, they no longer want to show every circuit, every screw on their arsenal. The base construction video mishap was stupid as hell but it will become less and less with time I suppose.

An eye for an eye establishes deterrence which ensures peace. IRGCASF's operations during the entire war seem like actions taken on well chalked out plans.

- Israel hit Fajr Jam Gas plant on 14th June with ALBMs, within few hours IRGCASF struck Israeli Bazan oil field as retaliation, Israel never hit Iranian oil fields again during the entire war.

- Iranian SPND (responsible for nuclear command) HQ was struck with SOWs on 15th June, within few hours again, entire Wiezmann Institute and Gav Yam Tech Park of Military Research (total ~200 labs) were destroyed by IRGCASF strikes. Israel never attacked strategic institutions again.

How did Mousavi manage to survive ? Was he never targeted by the Israelis ?

They should have hit dimona I only support that because knowing the Israelis they shut it down before the war to reduce the risk of nuclear contamination and it is a legitimate military target they hit those targets those other targets with such accuracy they should have gone all in after they struck their nuclear facilities

Erm...

They didn't strike Iranian nuclear reactors....it seems to have been an unwritten rule.

I'm sure there would have been a reciprocal response...

Israel has nuclear facilities we could have hit in response to them (rather, the US) hitting our nuclear sites, other than Dimona reactor

It’s not for civilian use would have been shutdown unless the Israelis were truly suicidal fair game in my books but yeah there were many other sites that could have been struck the idea of things being reciprocal is a bit of joke the Israelis bombed civilian areas first water gas etc Iranians responded to those
