PAF F-16 | Discussions

Yeah it seems this following trashy site was first to put out this bullsh*t:

The rest followed.

PAF F-16s can be divided in categories.

AM/BM
C/D
and ADF version.

Bringing ADF version on par with C/D or further upgraded could be a challenge.
It is not feasible to upgrade ADF to MLU AM/BM or MLU to blk 52... we can only hope for blk 52 upgrade to 70 standard and maybe some more Vipers with US approval.

It looks like the L3Harris “Viper Shield” EW upgrade has been cleared for export, per reports from the Dubai air show. Considering the F-16s use may become more limited in the PAF, priming the fleet for the A2G role and employing the latest EW and PGMs against the enemy SAM and C4ISR networks maybe the way to go to maximize the use of the fleet.
What about this one? Is it available for export? https://www.northropgrumman.com/wha...tegrated-viper-electronic-warfare-suite-ivews

Seems like just a sustainment package to keep the fleet modern, no major upgrade. The 92 Link 16 systems are very interesting though. We do not have that many aircraft
We have 75 aircraft and with some spares, 92 makes sense.

That is news to me. So AIM-120D and V-kits still in limbo. A lot of room for speculation once again.
On 10 October, the United States Department of War (DoW) / Department of Defense (DoD) clarified that an earlier adjustment to an existing contract for the production and sustainment of AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) did not include the sale of new missiles to Pakistan. Rather, the adjustment was for the sustainment of the Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) existing AIM-120C5 stocks.

Earlier, on 30 September, the United States Department of War (DoW)/Department of Defense (DoD) had apparently added Pakistan to a list of buyers for the Raytheon (RTX) AIM-120C8/D3 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM).

Pakistan’s inclusion came through a $41.68 million adjustment (P00026) to a previously awarded contract (FA8675-23-C-0037) now worth $2.51 billion for AIM-120C8/D to recent NATO and non-NATO customers of the missile.

This is why Pakistan will not purchase any new platform from the USA, or upgrade its F16s to Block 70 which in itself will cost an obscene amount of money to do so. Even the most simple of sales is toxic for the USA to do like the C8/D3 so what chance new procurements types can be done successfully ? None. As I have said, the era of USA purchases by Pakistan is over.
