Chinese 6th Generation Aircraft News & Discussions

H-20 is our strategic strike capability, and J-36 is tactical strike capability. J-36 cannot replace H-20.

What should discuss is whether H-20 is a manned bomber, because we already have drones with a range of over 20,000km

The J-36 will allow China to gain air superiority in from the 1st island chain to the 3rd island chain.

If China wants a fighter jet that can gain air superiority on a global scale, then it gonna be the 7th gen aircraft fighter in the next decade.

Honestly, I don't think the US will have the capability to develop 7G fighter jets in the future. Given the current state of the US 6G is their peak.

Yep, the 7th gen will be exclusively China, and the US will be extremely lucky to be able to finalize the project of the F-47.

Their progress on the adaptive cycle engine also falls behind China, and its rotating detonation engine was just a show off.

So the J-36 V1 got the WS-10C, and the V2 got the WS-15.

Maybe the incoming V3 will have the VCE.

And the RDE for the 7th gen aircraft in 2035.
In your dream that RDE equipped 7th gen jet will induct on PLAAF in 2035 and RDE is still in its infancy stages/development

My best guestimates for RDE equipped 7th gen Chinese jet will not appear before 2045-2050 timeframe

Lol how USA fall behind in the term of development of adaptive cycle engine with China? do you have any working prototypes of adaptive cycle engine? USA's GE has a prototype of XA-100 and P&W has a prototype of XA-101, both are in ground testing since 2022, Do China ground tested its adaptive cycle engine prototypes in recent years?

Why are you so triggered by something that doesnt concern you?

The gap between the J-20 and J-36/J-50 was 13 years, and by following that timeframe, China's 7th gen will appear on 2037-2038.

China has published the progress of the VCE recently, and the ground test was nearly completed.

China's VCE's code name is Mount Zhumulangma (Mount Everest for western name), and the initial ground test was started more than a decade ago.

The WS-15 AKA Mount E'mei's ground test was started back in 2006, and it became in service in 2024.

Your conclusion is correct. The United States needs to spend a lot of time and money to address the rare earth issue. During Obama's administration, the '2010 Rare Earths and Critical Materials Revitalization Act' was enacted, and fifteen years later, this problem still exists. I don't think the U.S. will be able to solve this issue in the next fifteen years. American capital is not inclined to invest in the rare earth industry, which is also why Trump signed rare earth cooperation agreements everywhere.

lol but if you comparing time than you are stupid, 7th gen jets will be far far more complex and difficult than current 6th gen jets, first most probably 7 gen jets will be hypersonic or near hypersonic and also most probably 7th gen jets will be unmanned, so you need a whole new aerodynamics and engine development for 7th gen jets

proofs/source/links for your claim?

Just got a hint by a friend that „the two South Six aircraft flew together.“ and images would be released soon.

Surely @Michael knows more, but this - posted at the SDF - looks IMO very much AI-generated!

From J-10 to J-20, it took 13 years.

From J-20 to J-36.J-50 also took 13 years.

China's technology prowess has been improved exponentially, so the transition from 6th gen to 7th also gonna take around 13 years.
