"They monitored their country's diaspora community. They tried to obtain classified information about Australia's trade relationships.
"They asked a public servant to provide information on security protocols at a major airport."

You can discredit the origin story or narrative build up but that is in fact part of the play...
Paint a picture... make these attackers known-unknowns from Pakistan, working to push Iranian agenda while pledging allegiance to ISIS... for anyone with little bit more than surface knowledge would immediately know that it doesn't add up... but for western audiences previously manipulated via MSM now getting quickly cornered through social media... with none other than miliekowsky leading the charge... all social media started to paint a picture and claims of even the one who saved many lives as Jewish, Maronite or a local Aussie!
All this to frame Palestinian plight... justify the aggressor and oppression. Australia ever since recognizing Palestine has been ground zero for manipulation and coercions.
