Trump Officials Announce More Than $11 Billion in Arms Sales for Taiwan

BS, there are permanent units there that have second line equipment. having permanent units v rotation is a massive difference, otherwise USAF would have no permanent units globally. Your argument is making no sense now, and honestly, I am ambrassed for you

Permanent stationing will begin at Misawa by spring, but the US heavily rotates F-35/F-22 units throughout East Asia. The US military is expanding its capabilities and force posture in the region.

The US military has its own dedicated budget line towards Asia in the Pacific Deterrence Initiative. That’s another $10B on top of general budget.

You really are clueless, and should stop talking of things you understand nothing about.

Zelensky is being forced into a bad deal by Trump, literally every news report on the planet is reporting that, but yeah, lets stick to your wacko fantasy land

The initial 28 point plan was heavily revised. Ukraine is not backing down on territory and the US is now guaranteeing Article V like security for Ukraine with Congressional approval.

Taiwans terrain is very hilly/mountainous and HIMARs will be very difficult to target due to its mobility. You vastly underestimate how hard it will be for China to conduct an amphibious assault onto Taiwan, and maintain its supply lines.

With US involvement, CSIS estimates China will lose 90% of its amphibious transport and landing ships within the first two weeks of the war.

There is nothing “easy” about assaulting Taiwan.
Agreed.

As much as we Pakistanis support China's right to Taiwan, it doesn't take away from the fact that such systems will not just complicate China's plans, but it would end in a stalemate, which is equivalent to a loss for China. We all are forgetting the fact that if such an invasion were to occur, a lot of countries will militarily and economically support Taiwan. Remember however we thought Ukraine was going to be a cakewalk? Even unpredicted Russia to end up in the Dnipro Ukraine by the end of 2022 but the battle is harder each time.

Unfortunately the window period is diminishing soon and China's option of a peaceful reunification is it's only hope.

You believe they will, and I don't believe they will. No one in the East is going to fight China or a province of China.

The Iranians are still there and now focussed on getting much stronger. The attempt by the USA and Israel to overthrow the IRI regime and put in place Reza Pahlavi as their poodle to control Iran failed.....

USA lost to Yemen and had to enter into a "peace deal with Yemen" to not attack the USN or American ships.

Russians are gaining land in Ukraine which is why even the USA wants out of the Ukrainian war by attempting to force Ukraine to accept every condition the Russians have put forward to date.

The Iranians absolutely got their tails kicked, embarrassingly so, and are at their weakest strategic position in decades along with their proxies.

It was the Houthis who begged the US for peace talks, the US lost nothing.

I’ve already explained above how Russia has been humiliated. Russia hoping it will gain the Donbas in the next 2 years is not the flex you think it is.

There’s good reason why the US bypassed Taiwan in WW2.

Look at the Battle of Okinawa and how difficult it was for US forces, and the US had total air and naval supremacy. Taiwan is 30X larger than Okinawa.

Taiwan will be the Chinese grave

lol when China was weak and starving in the 1950s they beat Douglas MacArthur and sent him packing into retirement. You think now the US has a chance? The US navy will get mauled by Chinese hypersonic missiles. All China needs to do is pound Taiwan with missiles after missiles. They will surrender in no time.

The USN navy got their arses royally kicked by people in sandals in Yemen!!! They have no chance going up against the Chinese mainland.

China can pound Taiwan with drones and missiles. They don’t need to send troops or do an invasion right a way. The US doesn’t have the capacity or manufacturing capability to supply endless weapons and interceptors to Taiwan either. That’s why Israel quit after the 12 days against Iran cause they were running low on interceptors and knew they would get mauled

The Iranians got a few licks, no one is denying that, but Iran is still there, the regime is still there and the American / Israel operation was a strategic failure ...

It was the Houthis who begged the US for peace talks, the US lost nothing.

It was the Americans who wanted a way out of the dead end they got caught in. Yemen still continued to target ships heading to Israel, that never changed. So, failure for the USN, and win for Yemen.

It is a war. And a war between Russia and the whole of NATO resources will be an uphill struggle, but the Russians are wearing down Ukraine and achieving their objectives. That is clear for all to see.

The US put 170,000-190,000 tons of air and naval ordnance on Okinawa over 82 days, and the fighting was still ferocious. Pounding Taiwan with missiles won’t get them anywhere, and China doesn’t have anywhere near the number of missiles it needs to subjugate Taiwan anyway.

The USN didn’t take a single hit much less a loss against the Houthis. They also shot down hundreds of drones, ballistic missiles, and antiship cruise missiles fired by the Houthis.

There’s not another Navy on the planet that could have sustained the level of high tempo operations the USN did against the Houthis on the other side of the planet.

We won't know how these weapons will work until a war happens. Meanwhile, all these defense deals are all about $$$. Trump is keen on manufacturing in the US, and what better way to support it than giving juicy contracts to defense contractors?

The Iranians are at their weakest strategic position in ages, their nuclear program effectively neutered, proxies destroyed, and Syria cozying up to US. Thats a strategic victory for the US.

The Houthis were the ones begging the US for peace talks, and they’re an afterthought these days barely holding onto power.

Russia has been strategically defeated as I proved above. They’re just hoping they can gain the Donbas before the Russian economy is cooked. The US hasn’t lost a single soldier, and hasn’t allocated any new material aid in over 12 months. For Russia, it’s a sunk cost fallacy. Why? Because Putin can’t justify ending the war now with so much loss and little gained in return.

Dominating a battlefield with firepower isn't the same as winning the war. Victory is defined by achieving strategic objectives. For China, that objective is the full occupation of Taiwan.

However, even if they manage a successful invasion with the fall of Taipei, and that is a big IF, they would likely face a protracted guerrilla insurgency with a significantly degraded military force. Asymmetric warfare favors the defender. While I respect China's rise and wish them prosperity, a near-term invasion seems strategically unviable especially with the US having Taiwan's back.

To add to that, the window is narrowing with such inductions and China has to make a really tough decision soon.

deterrent in play.

The US military will also be vastly more capable in 10 years with systems like B-21, F-47 entering full rate production. US munitions stockpiles will be much larger. I estimate US cruise missile stockpile to be 15-20K by 2035, and ballistic missile stockpile at 4-5K.
