H-1B visas must end’: Wife of US citizen shares plight of landing IT jobs

The intention of the British govt agreed FTA is to make it cheaper for companies to hire Indians?

You think they will spare you because you claim to have an army of Indian Einstein's?

Every country will have a group of ppl who don't like outsiders, what matters is the longer term policy the government of these countries implement, like the FTA the UK signed up for.. And even with trump the US made a lot of noise but watered down the regulations when it came to H1Bs and outsourcing

No, this is mainstream behaviour now. It is all over the social media. All over the place. Like I said, Indians are the elephant in the room. It won't be long before it happens on a large scale. The mood against Indians is getting toxic. Canada, MAGA in the US to name a few.

@Dalit bro

Are you comparing Shabana Mahmood with Priti Patel? LOL That is like comparing day with night.

Why are you describing Ms Mahmood as night? Is she that bad?

Regards

That’s ultimately for the governments of those countries to handle as they see fit. They’ll act based on what they believe serves their long term national interest.
As Indians, we’re confident in our own fundamentals and prospects.
We are confident we will gain long term irrespective of the noise being made now, you would think/like it's the other way around but that's fine, time will tell.

They are unable to control it as we are already witnessing. In fact they are now participating and being part of the narrative. The governments are being forced.

Indians won't be immune to the dangers. You will be a major target. Fundamentals and confidence won't be of any use.

Ok, we have very different ideas on how this is going to play out.. let's see which version becomes a reality.. what ever the narrative, there are some fundamental shifts in how the world is working, pushed by change in population growth/decline, economic changes etc

There is nothing fundamental about the way you Indians look. You can throw as much jargon in as you like. Just two days ago.

You are not very good ambassadors. The fundamentals aren't there at all.

Ok, you can hope for an Indian future you would love to see, let's get back to this topic a year from now to see how things progress

@Master Chief @BananaRepublic

Priti Patel specifically worked as a network enabler during BJ's tenure.

My dear distant cousins from the western river valley and the Eastern delta respectively, I understand the new Home Secretary Ms Shabana Mahmood too isn't particularly fond of illegal immigrants. Is she a Hindutva too? Why has the UK Labour govt of which she is a part signed a FTA with India, which among other things gives Indian access to UK labour market?

Regards
Ahh for the sheltered innocence of a gangetic upbringing, sniffing that warm and hazy morning Varanasi air until one's lungs are laden with ash and normal mentation is dizzied by incense.

We speak here of specific enablement of economic migration from a certain nation state that coincidentally happens to be the country of ethnic origin of the politician in question - something that Shabana Mahmood has been no party to hitherto, her being an honest and true representative of her local electorate, rather than a vassal of a foreign nation state.

"Priti Patel, as the UK's Home Secretary in May 2021, signed the Migration and Mobility Partnership (MMP) with India's Minister of External Affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar."

From gov.uk, just one part of the MMP scheme is the Indian YPS visa:

"An India Young Professionals Scheme visa allows Indian citizens between 18 and 30 years old to live and work in the UK for up to 2 years."

Unsurprisingly, this pathway is flooded by applicants from India, various sources cite from 60,000 to 80,000 applicants per visa. A twice yearly ballot system obviously exists for Indians applying, as demand is high.

A reciprocal arrangement is in place, so British citizens may likewise apply for 2 years in India such that, supposedly: "young Brits may experience India's dynamic professional environment". Interestingly, there is no ballot system for British applicants and applications are welcomed at any time of the year.

I am just sharing the wake up smell the coffee breaking news. You are living in some fantasy land where Indians are welcomed with open arms by blue eyed blondes. That world doesn't exist anymore for anyone including Indians. Reputation matters a lot. Indian reputation has eroded over the past few years. We all have our stigmas. I am sure you understand what I mean.
