PAF Conducts Successful Test Launch of Taimoor ALCM

although, a significant achievement but I cant wrap my head around it.

it is a good missile ( an offensive weapon) but not the need of the hour

we need better AD missiles now

now hopefully they can launch missiles like the ayatollahs
Imagine if we did - it would be apocalypse man - India is right next door. And India isn't super densely defended like Israel - but of course Iran effed their people even more than us to get those numbers of BMs so I wouldn't treat them as the overall ideal lol.

exactly , perfect deterrent against brahmos .

Jokes aside, our future strike packages should be consisting of Rasoob's, AZB 81LR and REK TJ. I genuinely believe we need stuff like REK TJ in huge numbers to throw at any indian equiptment we can, with azb and rasoob to penetrate airspace. Screw heavy, limited and old cruise missiles.
Can't we put an H-4 SOW-type booster and seeker on Mk-83/84s? If we don't have surplus Mk-83/84s, why not just reverse-engineer the H-4 SOW? Or is that a crude design that we REK TJ improves on?

Which makes me think, why doesn’t Pakistan invite Turkish defense firms, ask them to set up local subsidiaries or partner with Pakistani private/public firms and contract them to build whatever conventional products you want? The military gets a top of the line NATO-standard product, the local firms can absorb new technology, improve their facilities and manufacturing processes and the Turkish firms get another reliable market. Everyone wins!

I mean the same way American firms are contracted to build whatever products the Aussies, UK, Canada need through their local subsidiaries?

@JamD
To its credit, the PN is trying to take this step via PMSTP. I think NHQ has broadly agreed on letting the private sector lead with Gwadar Shipyard, if not now, then soon after work kicks off. Moreover, Pak Gov't has signed off on greatly expanding the merchant navy, with plans to source both state-owned and privately owned ships through local production. This will all (hopefully) be deferred to Gwadar (a public-private partnership with domestic and foreign investors), and could one day take on PN core projects too (E.g., subs, ships, etc).

Once the Army and PAF-tied decision-makers see the output on the naval side, I think they'll reevaluate (perhaps via a future generation of leaders).

What you are describing is BREK, the rocket boosted REK, which already exists.

My father, Chacha and brother (1 star) have also served. But we have to dispassionately look at where we stand as a country and what are the roots causes of our decline.
My Taya, two aunt's sons, my fatehr in law, brotehr in law, etc have served/are serving in the military. I don't discuss military things with them (Taya has died anyway) as I don't want them to land in trouble.
My granny prayed that my father might not get selected, and he failed in ISSB.
