If this is published in the Wall Street Journal, then you can be certain this is what the CIA/Mossad want for Iran and the direction they have been pushing the country into, including the June 2025 decapitation attacks and the January 2026 street revolution attempt.

It means Iran needs to get serious about political and economic reforms. It also means Iran is penetrated up the wazoo by foreign intelligence and really needs to clean house.

I understood the other factors you cited but what did you mean by this ? Do you mean IRGC tactics and strategy was good for 90s to 2010s but outdated in the post 2015 era of airpower ?

From information available to us:

-Israel has less interceptors than before 12 day war
-Israel will target Iran's BM launchers and actively try striking them like last time after a US-led strike
-US may even lead with strikes on missile silos 'city' sites
-Iran is weaker than before 12 day war but more prepared this time

Still US and NATO have lots of tricks up their sleeves....Iran should highly consider pre-emptive action of some sort even if it's just testing Israeli state of war by firing some drones from Iraq....

US carriers are a nuclear redline for Pentagon/US defense establishment, if any country manages to sink one, they will get a salvo of nuke tipped missiles in response unless of course it's China and Russia doing the sinking...

Yes....if they knew, we would've had some urgency to patch up the Air Force and the IADS. They would've known about the border being porous and poorly defended. They should've known about Starlink....before 40,000 of them made their way inside Iran....etc...etc.

I take your points, crudely made though they are, but it is  still in Pakistan's interests to keep Pahlavi and his maniacs out of Tehran and to support the stability of Iran. Iran herself will slowly realise the nature of our eastern neighbour. She probably already has.

One would hope so. Pakistan has a vested interest in reduced tension between Iran and its Arab and Turkic neighbors. The Saudi-Iran rapprochement greatly improved our relations with Iran e g. We ultimately want a stable Iran and Middle East.

NEW DELHI: Responding to renewed US sanctions, India transferred approximately $120 million to Iran to fully liquidate its financial commitment for developing Chabahar port, a key gateway to landlocked Afghanistan, The Economic Times said on Friday.

We can have our wishes but one must remain realistic. Even I would want to see end of US hegemony and its enemies able to give an equal response but our wishes means nothing in face of reality. You are fundamentally wrong at basics of warfare and geopolitics.

Wrong on warfare because Iran has no means to sink US aircraft carrier. Wrong on geopolitics & reality as doing so or even attempting to doing so is equivalent to a suicide for Iran.

US bombed and wiped out nuclear facilities built with billions of dollars, enduring decades of sanctions and decades of hardwork. Was that not an act of all out war? What Iran did in response?? Or what even it could do against US? An early warning and a symbolic attack at Qatari base with no losses, no impacts, not a single plane or person killed. Iran can never even imagine to hurt United States as Iran knows about consequences. Forget about an aircraft carrier, even if Iran sinks a destroyer then all hell will be unleashed on Iran. Entire Iranian oil and economic facilities will be wiped out, its government buildings, and tens of thousands of civilians will be killed in retaliatory strikes.

those carriers remain at a safe distance. Secondly they are protected by world's most advance submarines under the ocean and air defense destroyers. Even if missiles stuck the carrier, You can never sink such a massive aircraft carrier with cruise missiles alone. You can only sunk an aircraft carrier with a heavy torpedoes or a cruise missile tipped with a tactical low yield warhead. Iran has no such options available. Iran do not have modern submarines or tactical nuclear weapons.

Lastly, as other member pointed out sinking of aircraft carrier means 5000+ US members gone and that will definitely allow US enough excuse to unleash nuclear Armageddon and convert Iran to dust and radiation zone. So by all means there's absolutely no comparison on earth between US and Iran.
