Retired, not sure about any sale. Are they up for sale or retired to the boneyard
It was expensive to operate.oh, Casa cn 235 is newer than c130. Was it that indonesia didnt provide support or something else ?
Most expensive per hour cost.Yeah, think between the SAAB 2000s, King Airs and C-130s there was a lot f overlap.
Any idea though what was the problem with these birds specifically, as seems we retired them after a relatively short amount if time?
Not sure but I have not seen any news about their sale.IF you can, were they sold, or put in long term storage?
Maybe they are still parked there but I am sure they have been grounded. Super King Air 350 and Piper 600 are being used along with more Phenom 100 bought few years back.Saw the CN-235 fleet still at Nur Khan ramp on Google Maps, unsure how old the image is though.
No sign of Y-12
He is not an officer. It is clear the officer is not serving anyone, or just messing around with peanuts, you can make your own mind up. Do me a favour and stop polticising every thread

He is crew chief. My guess, a retired Army Avn NCO.Ah, I thought I saw some engineer wings on his chest, do NCOs get them too?
Is this a recent image? If grounded why would they be on the active flight line? We would park them out the way somewhere no? Not being pedantic here just really interested, as I heard elsewhere we are getting rid of them. Actually now Google has them parked out the way on the very edges of the apron so seems like they are just being stored at the very end of the flightline

Sad indeed, but it was quite costly for PAF to operate, so had to go I guess. Even C-130 sorties were cut down by a large number.I screen grabbed it today but unsure when Google took it. One CN-235 seems to have tarp covering its cockpit, so you are 100% right, they seem out of service and just parked at the end of the apron.
Sad really.

It was political decision. Trying to curry favour with IndonesiaWas a mistake buying the CN-235s in the first place I think
Between the gap between SAAB 2000 transport capability and C-130s is wide, granted, but enough to justify small numbers of another type? Not sure.
if that's true, then it was a good decision. It was political decision. Trying to curry favour with Indonesia![]()
