India is just playing hard to get. But everyone knows India has no leverage. Superpower India has less cards than middle powers such as Canada and South Korea. Actually, India has zero cards and can only beg for forgiveness. Modi called as instructed and said sorry so the tariff is lowered. Just like that. Kneeling and begging should be the Indian strategy as a country with no cards can only bend down and beg.

Russia has already said that India is not going to be stop importing oil from Russia.
I doubt it very much if India would choose the US or Russia.
I mean it can be US and Russia but not only US and no Russia.
Imagine if tomorrow some nut President of the US worse than Donald Trump decides to halt imports to India all of a sudden, that would disrupt Indian economy unnecessarily.
China has flawlessly defeated the US in the 2025 Trade War simply because they ensured they don't rely on the US for their critical needs.
I doubt it very much if India would choose the US or Russia.

It is heartening to see that trolls and cry babies are back in the thread with wildest of theories. Most of them had completely vanished when FTA with US was announced and was the basis of this thread. Heartbreak seems to be healing now, but it took good 24 hours plus.
Many of them can’t fathom the success of Indian diplomacy in respect of FTAs.
Most of them fell flat on their faces when they gave similar assessments when this thread was created.
EU president calling the FTA “mother of all deals” is an idiot while these trolls have all the know how of leverages or the lack of them. They can’t even troll properly.
One tight slap isn’t good enough for few shameless people to learn a lesson. They will sure shot get many more, with the kind of visions that they have regarding India.
India hasn’t opened most critical components of the farm sector under the FTA with the US. It has allowed only those items that wouldn’t impact our farmers. Infact many of these were already being imported, but US items were not allowed due to GMO tag. Now that would be allowed.
Just hold your horses folks. With US trade deal in pocket, many more are lined up within next month or so.
