I would assume a weaker rupees is good for exports?
 
I expected political storm raked up by opposition parties for India allowing duty free agricultural imports from US, however it's been 2 days and barely a wimper. Possibly shows the amount of influence US has in Indian opposition circles.

If true than this is nothing short of a catastrophe for the vast majority of Indians, as American food is dirt cheap and unfit for human consumption.
Not much impact. Most of the import of US farm goods go into animal feed or ethanol prodution. Right now India is using cane sugar for ethanol but now we might shift to corn based production.

But that would negatively affect the cost of your agricultural products.

Anyway, the deal is better than having extremely high tariffs imposed by the US on India, that's for sure.

It's a marriage of convenience, Trump wants to convince MAGA they brought India to sign a deal on their terms, and will harm Russia and Modi has to be accountable to the business community of India regarding the tariff issue first and foremost.

We don't import major agro products from the US other than special products like say nuts. Also, dairy, cereals, wheat, rice, and GMO foods are kept out of the deal. That leaves a few agro products. If anything certain other countries are going to be affected who were exporting to India are now competing with Americans.
