Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

I never said Iran Intl. was a credible source, did I?
And I never cited their 40K figure. But I still think the real figure is somewhere near the 5K-10K range based on the news I have received from my own friends.

I have a friend whose cousin was killed in the protests. I have another friend whose friends was killed in the protests. Both lived in Tehran, where protests were much less violent than in Lur-majority cities. When a random person already knows more than a single person that has been shot dead, it means that the number is probably much higher than 3K in all of Iran, just purely based on statistics and guestimation.

In comparison, during covid-19 outbreak, I knew only of 4 people around me that died due to covid. And covid killed over 120K people in Iran.
You can only speculate, one loss of life is to much, thing is that opposition sources lost all credibility and basically ridiculed them self in comparation with government claims which was backed up with sort of transparency.
Logical conclusion which follows is that anything what sources near opposition or foreign entities claim is blatant lie or requests harsh scrutiny even all claims in past against current regime are now doubtful as it is pretty much obvious that people abroad who are most vocal and prominent against iranian government are pathological liers.

Name them plz with proof. Larijanis daughter is the only one I can find information on.

Yes please say more with names and proof.

I listed around 10-20 highest influential ppl in Iran from past few years, tell me of there children being abroad too.
Fatemeh Larijani, USA.
Leila Khatami, USA.
Elias Ghalibaf, Australia.

Hector Shamkhani has multi-billion dollar business links in the UAE (Milavous Group Ltd.)

به گفته گلپایگانی، دبیر ستاد امر به معروف، مشخص شده است که بین سه تا چهار هزار نفر از فرزندان مسئولان ساکن خارج از کشور هستند

Rafsanjani's family is so well-known to have Canadian citizenship that even Faezeh and Mohsen never denied it.

The Obama administration granted citizenship to 2,500 Iranians, including family members of government officials, while negotiating the Iran nuclear deal, a senior cleric and member of parliament has claimed.

This kind of objections i can understand and support highlighting it, for any politician is of utter importance is to minimize hypocrisy levels and this one is pretty high and easily punchable.

The oligarchs in the Islamic Republic benefit from the US sanctions on Iran by circumventing them through their shadow fleet and money laundering in neighboring countries like Turkey and the Emirates. It's a multi-billion dollar business for them. They've made billions of dollars every year, while your average Iranian earns less than $200 per month.

Again, minimum wage in Iran at the moment is barely $87/month. Way behind the UN poverty line. Average salary is about $230 per month. Now imagine an oligarchy with links to the top of the power structure in Iran that earns billions of dollars annually. How long will people tolerate that?

Iran's oil income has become nearly halved since 2008. Average Iranian has lost about 78% of its purchasing power. Where has this extra 30% gone to?

@ShapurII

After this whole phase is over in 2 months or so, this entire "opposition" (who ever they are) will be done once and for all. They will live the rest of their lives in absoluty mental agony and bitterness....I bet many of them will even renounce their Iranian-ness.

The people of Iran have finally waken up!

Not sure if it is true or not but this is the major reason for Standoff between US and Iran. US does not care about Iranian nukes, missiles or whatever, thats Israeli headache after 12 day war esp. US solely does not want RMB to spread in Iranian connected markets against Iranian oil freely flowing to China (upto ~20% of Chinese consumption). They previously tried to lure in IRI through Saudis (US basically) investment in hydrocarbon sector. IRI under Raisi refused that, then him and his FM died and tensions with US and Israel rose to sky.

I am feeling this Araghchi+Larijani nexus may offer opening some proportion of Oil to USD.

This could also be a trap for Iran by causing estrangement between Iran and China, with the false hope of investing in Iran, but putting sanctions back on for whatever reason they wish, like they've done before, whereby Iran is then left with nobody to sell its oil to! Iran should be able to decide whoever they wish to sell their oil.

I do not know man, Iran stood by us in our nation darkest times without any conditions just out of muslim solidarity and it was substantial and crucial for us, so it is painful for me also in extent that you are going through tormenting decades without clear perspective, in my outsider view you as country carries big chunk of muslim collective consciousness and is heart braking to read such discrepancies.

Thank you for your kind words.

Iran in early 1990s and today are completely different countries though.
Heck, even Iran in 2008 and now are completely different countries.

You gave martyrs for us and helped brotherly, kind words are least what individuals like me could do, we are still indebted to you.
All I can say other then that is there are not others outcomes for Iran now then to prevail upcoming war as sovereign nation everything else will be catastrophic,
After that hopefully time will come to address all hardships and troubles of ordinary people.

Fair enough. I lean towards believing the official number but it's not unreasonable to believe the real number is a bit higher. But I do take issue with the clearly inflated nonsense numbers put out by unreliable opposition sources.

Larijani's daughter, Ghalibaf's son, Khatami's daughter, Pezeshkian's son, Rafsanjani's family, do I need to say more?

According to the IR itself, over 4,000 high ranking officials have their families abroad or have dual citizenships. And the ones that do not live abroad like Shamkhani's son, have multi-billion business ties with regional and international countries like the UAE and Europe.

In addition to that, hundreds of Iranian officials received US green cards after signing the JCPOA. This is a fact that has been exposed by the USA and never challenged by the Islamic Republic, even confirmed unofficially by right-wing media who dislike Zarif.
4,000 seems high but it is indeed a lot, I know some of them personally in the UK. nice people, of course. mostly on useless masters programs trying to find ways to stay long enough to get residency rights etc.

@Persian Gulf

looks like they are throwing stones and targeting the car, and the car is also trying to run some of them over (maybe to survive itself)

not good to see on either side
