Iranian UAVs | News and Discussions

Can't wait for Chinese Military to actually see some action in Modern-day Real War. Already there are reports that Chinese-made weapons serving in the Cambodian Army now in war stress had resulted in many malfuctions and defects, some even blowing up by themselves like tank barrels and MLRS launchers, causing some Westerners to ridicule "Poor Chinese Quality"...

While I have lots of things to criticize about Japan, at least they had better quality control when making all sorts of products...
Friends, being ridiculed isn't so terrible; at least it means people are still paying attention to you. What's truly frightening is when there's no one left to even ridicule you.

Which global media outlet is ridiculing Malaysia's domestically produced weapons? The answer is none!

The VT-4 tank. Which tank in the world has a gun barrel that can withstand continuous high-intensity firing of over 200 rounds without any cleaning or maintenance in between?

Although I have a different opinion on whether Iranian UAVs are advanced, I would at least acknowledge their revolutionary contribution in terms of tactical concepts. However, I won't discuss Malaysia's domestically produced weapons systems because I can't find anything worth discussing.

This is a thread about Iranian UAVs. Let's get back to the topic.

You are not familiar with the relationships between East Asian countries, nor with their respective military capabilities.
This is also not the appropriate thread for discussing the Taiwan Strait issue.
It's not suitable to discuss this topic here.
Stop talking out of your backside then. You are not familiar, you don't know, you are not aware. Lol looks like the words of a paralyzed kid.

Japanese navy despite being outnumbered by Chinese, is developing heavier ships while focusing more on missile defense capability. Its not a match to Chinese navy in terms of the size of navy fleet but in terms of capabilities, Japanese navy is a serious challenge to PLAN. Magomi class frigates is a pure example for Japanese doctrine at sea.

The Maya class destroyer assisted by ASEV class can challenge any big and large navy even without ACs at sea.

Not to mention Japanese submersible fleet which truly is of high quality.

I didn't add SK's naval strength to this conclusion. Both Japan and SK have announced support for Taiwanese intentions.

Now crawl back to your own section instead of making headache to Iranian users of this forum.

I note that in the vt+4 tank, it was not the tube that broke, but the tube mounting bracket that broke, which is a really serious problem.

MANPADS on Shahed.

Here It is shown new buildings in Isfahan Air base. It is very important because here seems they're mass producing new Shahed 161/191 drones.

Google maps have recently actualized maps of Isfahan, and clearly shows in those two buildings some interesting UAVs.

If you check it carefully you will see that there is at least three flying wings with some more than 7 meters span that are extremely similiar to Shahed 181/191 family.

All in all this suggest that Shahed 181/191 have reached mass production.

At the same Air base, under the climatic shelters (to keep fighters away from direct sun and rain) you can see a weird silhouette that seems to be a tail from a fighter sized aircraft under it.

Maybe it is a pair of trucks or logistic vehicles for fighters or trainers (electric generation car or towing car) but if you check it carefully there are simetric wingtips exiting the shelter and a high pronounced swept rudder aleirons extremely similar to those in... F117!!.

Before speculating about it, I would like to ask what are you oppinion about this. Maybe it is just some logistic vehicles under the canvas. But all in all, it is extremely similar to those of Have blue or F117.

What are you trying to say, Iran reversed engineered the F-117?

There is no manned domestic fighter jet program in Iran. It’s too expensive for a county with the military budget of Iran. You either need outside investors to help fund the project or you need a large experienced domestic company with ample funds.

Why would Iran even reverse engineer F-117 (if it could)? It was a subsonic jet, the last thing Iran needs at the moment. Iran needs fast and powerful interceptors, not a niche stealth jet to penetrate enemy airspace.

How do some bunkers get you to think that it looks likes a long retired U.S. stealth jet? More than not you are looking at probably an F-14 which are known to be stationed at Isfahan.

No. Irán can not reverse ingeenered something they never had. Just said seems a UAV with similar layout of a F117.
And I repeat again, maybe It is a shadow of a munitions loader truck or whatever, but to me It is so similar to a F117.
Obviously of It is an aircraft It is much smaller than a F117, just 9 meters wide.
It is Google maps. Images are not altered.

Recently a turkish made HALE Akinci drone destroyed a SHORAD chinese origin vehicle FK2000.

By maintaining standoff distance, the drone avoided the missile envelope while preserving sufficient sensor resolution to identify the command vehicle through electro-optical targeting, a prerequisite for disabling the system’s networked engagement capability.

Remember Akinci it is a long range high altitude non stealth drone.

This should teach that a large UAV HALE drone with sufficient electronic warfare systems (SAR/SLAR radars, paired with potent ESM and ECM/ECCM, Satcomms data links) with long range munitions can be more than useful against this targets. And that makes Shahed 149 Gaza useful for confronting not only terrorists in Baluchestan.

I was reluctant to believe it until I read the article. And it is not the first time a HALE/MALE drone performed well against SHORAD systems.

Also it may be grab attention to have SHORAD batteries protected with Air Force as every day reminds here and other treads,

Any drone outside of a SHORADs engagement envelope is lethal, doesn’t need to be HALE or even MALE.

You could even make the same case for Karrar which is based on a 1970’s target drone. Slap a PGM with 15KM+ range on it and it will be lethal against any SHORAD.

SHORADs alone are vulnerable as Syrian war demonstrated. They are meant to be inside an air defense ring that has longer range radars and stronger batteries actively scanning sectors for threats. They are not meant to be the main point defense or the tip of the spear. But unfortunately some militaries use them as so.
