I'm assuming soft targets like non-harden buildings or ports? Likely also targeting landbase antiship missile sites.

11/03/2026: How Ukraine is helping the U.S. defend against Iran's drone attacks: PBS

Nick Schifrin:
How difficult has it been for Ukraine to learn over the years how to create your own technology to do this on a cheap basis regularly?
Oleksandr Kamyshin:
Well, Nick, last time we met, three years ago, we would not produce so much. Now we have learned how to produce Zbroya. That's Ukrainian name for weapon.
The drone interceptor cost is less than $5,000. The cheapest ones are roughly $2,000. Considering the cost of Shahed, because some of them cost from $50,000 to $150,000, that's pretty much efficient. And, at this point, the fast relief is sending some assets and some trainers to them, and later we would be happy to go on with investments, joint procurement, joint production, whatever.

Some defense magazine pages from thr 80's ans early 90's.
Absolutely incredible! Reminds me of how the F-22 raptor is also decades old, yet still arguably the best air superiority fighter jet in the world today.

Only makes me wonder what the US is working on now that will be out to dominate more decades in the future

Problem isn’t what we’re building now but what can survive bean counters that now head every major corp.

Anduril on the other hand while led by the living embodiment of Mojojo from Powerpuff girls is working at less constrained a pace than LM or NG.
