The later would be better as Qatar shares that field and developing it a breathtaking pace.

China has been offered plenty of good deals over the years, including the opportunity to develop South Pars Field with Iran, they were interested in none of them due to US sanctions.

Iran can never convince the Chinese to side with Iran when the Chinese trade volume with the US is north of $400 billion.

This also shows importance of having fighter jets with long range BVR weapons. You need to check out all local laws as well. For example a indian diplomat a few years ago who probably thought living in America was great until she was arrested and given a cavity search.
