KRG has direct borders with Syria via the Semalka crossing at the very NE tip of the country, not far from where this base is, so they wouldn't be crossing in any territory Hashd militias can operate in. Previous closed bases also had their equipment and troops transferred to the KRG so it would make more sense for this one too.hmm.. the reporting said Jordan, they want to avoid Iraq because of the Hashd stuff, but who knows.
