The man Khan fired is now running Pakistan's nukes.Think about that for a second. Munir was sacked by Khan in 2019 after just eight months as ISI chief. Eight months. Khan threw him out after he went to Tehran with the Pakistani delegation and blew up the room, went completely off the script the government had agreed on internally, used language with Iranian officials that had no business being used, and actively wrecked what could have been a genuine step toward better Pakistan-Iran ties. Iran complained directly to Khan. Khan fired him. That same man now controls 170 nuclear warheads with zero institutional checks left standing. What happened between getting fired and getting the keys is the part that should make every Pakistani furious. After the sacking, Munir allegedly flew to London and sat down with Nawaz Sharif, who was conveniently living in self imposed exile at the time. Khan called it the London Plan. The deal as Khan described it was straightforward, Munir gets army chief, Khan's government gets taken apart, his party gets destroyed, the judiciary plays along. Sounds insane until you watch it happen exactly like that, step by step, over the next three years.Munir became army chief in November 2022 in a process multiple reports said involved heavy consultations with the same Nawaz Sharif sitting in London. Within months Khan was arrested. Shariar waltzed back into Pakistan in October 2023 and had most of his convictions vacated almost overnight. By February 2024 his brother was prime minister, the elections were rigged openly and Washington and Brussels said nothing. Then Munir really got to work. He promoted himself to Field Marshal, invented a brand new title of Chief of Defence Forces, and passed the 27th Constitutional Amendment scrapping the Nuclear Command Authority that had existed since 2000. That authority existed for one reason, to make sure no single person could ever make a nuclear decision alone. It required the prime minister, the joint chiefs, the service chiefs, all in the room. All of that is now gone. Munir replaced it with the National Strategic Command, headed by himself, answerable to nobody above him. The prime minister's only remaining role is to appoint people Munir recommends.Pakistan has 170 nuclear warheads. Every single one of them now answers to one man.Khan, the man who saw all of this coming and tried to stop it, has been rotting in a cell for nearly 3 years. And Munir gets called "my favorite Field Marshal" by Trump.

what betrayal???

That he exposed how corrupt the army and our whole political system is ? that youth is not awaken and see what is going on and how these elite are sucking their blood ? the mismanagement and corruption and generals stealing billions with politicians and sending overseas? That vote has absolutely no value and poor people are destined to forever slavery and poverty? and that we are and will always be the whore of America because our generals lack balls to stand up for the country? That politicians and their dynasties only exist to rape and pillage Pakistan and have their kids and wealth in the West tucked safely? That's Arabs shove sectarianism and extremism down our throats while they sleep with the call girls all on the name of Islam?

Yes IK is a true traitor.
NO!

The fact that the Army because corrupt only once the Army stopped supporting him over others and went neutral.

The youth that you speak of cannot tell you how many provinces there are, and they can be expected to discuss politics and fiscal policies and diplomacy? The youth has only been bewitched by someone who looks good, that is all. The highly immoral, corrupt and lying person is an ideal of many youth says a lot about the youth themselves, and the quality of Pakistanis we are producing who idolize criminals, traitors, immoral and corrupt bases only on their looks! Khan dikhta to acha hai na!!!

That the vote had meaning when it was stolen from PML in 2018 for Khan but does not have meaning when it is stolen back? What kind of logic is that? What kind of moral is that? So basically, everything is fair as long as it is in your favour and everything is bad when it is not in your favour? Those are your standards? Those are your morals? And you will tell us what's right and wrong? How pathetic!!

That the same politicians, Jahangir Tareen and others like him are fine, and if they get disqualified, it is equally fine to give Provincial Assembly tickets to their sons; so all these corrupt politicians and their families are kosher as long as they are with the munafiq-e-aala but they become haram as soon as they leave Khan? Wow!!!

Fact is, the same Asim Muneer is respected and revered across the globe today, including in Iran where he supposedly went off the track (damn lies expose themselves to those who have an iota of common sense; sadly, common sense is not really common these days). Whereas the person who removed Muneer from his post as ISI chief, factually over his revelation to Khan about Pinky Peerni's extracurricular activities (of which Khan himself was a part and parcel and beneficiary), is now locked up in Jail as a common criminal and someone who cries and begs on a daily basis for the same Asim Muneer to speak to him and give him just 1 more chance.

How sad, actually.

You nailed it....All dictators are loved and respected outside rather than by their own people.....Asif Munir is probably the most hated man (Good for Showbaz and Mian saanp) as people slide into deep poverty they are busy painting Asim as the true leader and saviour of the nation....

STOP kissing that idiot's ass.....Pakistan is fast sliding into an abyss....

Would it all be ok if Pakistan started developing at a face faster than that of China and India? If the GDP growth rate is above 7%? If the PKR strengthens to 100/USD? If the exports start increasing and imports start decreasing and prices of electricity, gas, petrol etc., all come down significantly? If our debt started decreasing rapidly and our reserves start to grow rapidly? Would you then relish your life under Asim Muneer?

I mean those must all be the things that were happening under Imran Khan for you to support him through think and thin....right?

Ok - horrible
But what is Mario’s source for these accusations?

Just as we will question anti-PTI tweets as well whether by Patwari or establishment bots.

That’s not the point.

Ok, the Patwaris do fudge numbers to the hilt and the establishment is rather dismal in its own choice of partners even when running the show like Musharraf

But, what are PTIs sources to make the claims they are other than “look it up”?

That’s like someone saying “The Quran says cars are haram”

And you question them
“Look it up”

I apply the same metric to claims against the PTI government as well - PML(N) has its paid shills in PK media.

So what is the actual truth?
Or has it been decided that I believe what I believe and that’s right?

Ayub, Yahya, Zia and Musharraf were also high flying once. Munir will share their fate.

It's your ignorance of Pakistani history that's sad, actually.
From that perspective
Then Bhutto was also high flying once and commanded greater popularity and never needed electable to win - his fate is well known too and so is Benazirs.

How are these relevant to the question of diplomatic success (which I actually attribute to a dusted playbook working out based on happenstance rather than some FM brilliance)?

But what is Mario’s source for these accusations?
for missile range reduction or just short off Israel, this is the article.
It also states that Bajwa agreed to a US delegation visit to SPD, but SPD refused and asked for permission from CJCSC for such a visit.

I totally agree with you. If they cannot provide us with facts, we have 3 choices, we accept their claim, we deny their claim or we search for the facts ourself.

Where is your reference for that?
If he is accused of copy pasting from biased sources - then perhaps you have better standards … correct?

I was expecting you to pitch in.....What is the single biggest demand that IMF makes with every program and which Pakistanis will rush to Washington to get waiver on with every single program? Widening the tax bracket.

What is the second most asked? curtailing non development expenditures (main source of political corruption and includes the Defence Budget).

Increasing the subsidy or decreasing the subsidy on oil and gas is just a band aid and barely have any effect at all.

Imran Khan was not about to squeeze poor people more to please non tax paying elites or to build more golf courses and DHAs for the army.

The fight started early on when the economists like Atif Mian were fired exactly because he was pushing for over all economic overhaul instead of these repeated price adjustments to fill the gap:

The story doesn't end here......Army interfered every time anyone who took charge and noticed and demanded the same solution....

Agricultural tax would have Brough in close to 2T of extra revenues but Nooooo its easy to just increase the fuel price for poor ....

Anyways its my work day and I cannot keep responding in detail.

I am confused

So you are citing an article that is consistently stating

“According to a former PTI official, Munir “used undiplomatic language in Iran and deviated from the strategy the Pakistani government had discussed internally prior to the trip,” which is characteristic of Munir’s style. A source who served in Khan’s inner circle confirmed the account to Drop Site”

So two sources with clear ties and bias with PTI state this incident and its considered gospel?

When British wanted to impress locals they would pick someone from locals... dress him up , give him a title and escort and present him as their spokesperson. Locals would be impressed that one of theirs is Saab ji and gore Saab's favourite.....unfortunately this thinking is prevalent and very well alive in our DNA. We get so impressed when gore picks us and says few sympathetic words and we dont even realize how we are being used........
I will see someone like Trump praising me as the greatest of dishonour and insult rather than bow down and pledge alligence to Washington...
Iranians need someone...anyone....to buy them time and negotiate through who they feel is an American slave

Let us all see how long before Munir and others are discarded and thrown in the garbage like a used urine catheter......

Ill leave your last cop out to the usual “look it up”

But, please explain again - how is this relevant to the question on the diplomatic front?

What PTI did do or did not do and what the IMF asks is pure whataboutism but Ill humor you.

The IMF issue is not some new invention of today’s government, and it wasn’t unique to PTI either. Pakistan has been in and out of IMF programs for decades, and the IMF’s core message has stayed remarkably consistent: widen the tax base, improve compliance, and stop relying on borrowed money and repeated short-term fixes.

On the record, PTI has both talked reform and then later fought or softened on painful tax issues, especially when those reforms became politically costly. The broader agricultural tax push, for example, was a recurring imf linked demand, and even PTI positions have not been consistent when the pressure became real.

Hence, pointless whataboutism to the issue of a long term economic issue when PTI was still holding empty gatherings in backyards.
