Iran isn't aiming to fight their way out of this because they can't. Their leverage lays in the squeeze. The longer they squeeze, the more Trump squeals. They won't needlessly escalate.

I get it now, though! Pakistan has assets, sent them inside Iranian territory, bombed Iranian territory, remained unchallenged during and after because Iran does not have the assets to respond with, ergo Pakistan's response was weaker. Someone call the US and let them know that they're doing it all wrong. Given your predicament you should not read up on how missiles and drones were also used.
Noting the above mentioned absolute lack of response to our actions, pretty safe to assume that the deterrence and the lesson both were established, taught, drilled, and tested thoroughly.....salvaging any comfort through self-placating nonsensical rhetoric, not withstanding.
