Manufacturing Superpower China Imports $362 Billion in Chips in Just 7 Months

That is certain. Mainland China is currently constrained by the US-led restrictions and containment on multiple fronts. Without these constraints, SMIC would have begun competing with TSMC long ago and might have surpassed it by now.

Many people here failed to see that the US basically has used all available tools to take down China's manufacturing empire, but they have still failed to do so.

They even think about to sneak attack China's data center.

There is no country on Earth can withstand such onslaught from the US in all fronts, and make them feel desperate in the meantime.

They deliberately ignore the fact that mainland China has been constrained by “US-led efforts to contain mainland China” for decades, and compare mainland China with the strengths of different countries one by one in order to belittle mainland China's achievements.

Mainland China has been forced to compete with the entire world, yet it has performed quite well.

But facts speak louder than sophistry and smears. The Western world, led by the United States, is in decline, while China is developing rapidly.

Only two puzzles left which are the EUV and intercontinental jetliner.

If it wasn't Deng's mistake, China would have already caught up with the west in those two fields.

Mainland China is already performing very well at this point.
Perhaps leaving some room for other countries to shine would mean far fewer people would be jealous of China than there are now... :ROFLMAO:

Since China has no true ally, so China needs to virtually control everything.

China perhaps needs to build itself into a Type 1 civilization by the solo mode.

China is still a developing country, it's not a high income nation yet, the country and its people are no longer poor but not rich either. China doesn't eat other countries' lunches as Trump like to say, it is just focusing on improving the lot of its people, nothing is wrong with that. To those countries that are jealousy, that's their problem. The Europeans and many Americans don't work that much, they sip wine and beer at restaurants and bars all the time, they don't deserve that high standards of living.

Their development model is unstainable, and China is working on a sustainable model for the long term.

And the old buzzwords like developed/developing countries is really outdated.

True strength means not having to rely on allies to maintain your own security.

True wisdom means knowing when to keep an appropriate distance and not allowing yourself to be easily dragged into external disputes.

China should focus on its own affairs and provide timely support to friendly countries within its capabilities. That is enough.

Indeed, China still has much room for improvement in many areas, just as all other countries have their own challenges.

China has no intention of interfering in other countries' affairs. Yet other countries always seem eager to point fingers at China.

The Western world cannot solve its own problems, so it shifts the focus onto others, while dressing it up as "civilization."

Does comparing the semiconductor development of different countries bother you? Why does it make you think of racism? How interesting.

After all, there is hardly any discussion of Spain's semiconductor industry on this forum.
In fact, Spain is rarely discussed in the world either.
So I suppose, as a Spaniard, you must be eager for a chance to show the world Spain's impressive development in the semiconductor industry.

What a shame. After seeing you make so many criticisms, I thought you would have some impressive achievements from Spain to show us, but unfortunately, the result was disappointing.

I hope you won't be discouraged. Spain will catch up with China someday, or perhaps start by having the confidence that India has.
you quoted me putting text in chinese in a picture, to avoid translation machine I guess 😂, dont you know what is ocr? anyway, what you did it fits exactly in the meaning of racist troll.

you're projecting on me, I dont think Spain, USA or China is superior to anyone. I was just asking.

Spain government announced years ago big investments for manufacture semiconductors for cars.
Here it doesnt exist electronic o semiconductors industry, but cars industry exists and it's a big part of GDP, although is in hands of foreign owned companies.

The car industry relies on the legacy chips, and it is also crucial by its sheer volume compared to the cutting edge chips.

bur even if China build those machines, they haven't companies with designs of cutting edge chips.

all those chips imported are from nvidia, intel, arm (fabless brand)

china hasn't equivalent companies yet.

what company is the Chinese equivalent of intel/arm/nvidia?

I dont say it's impossible but they are starting the way when usa/uk has decades of knowledge doing it.

I saw a Chinese company who build own mips64 chips, modified by them, capable of emulate amd64 and run windows in own chips, but it was a tiny company (hundreds employees), and more expensive and slower chips than amd/intel equivalents.

calm down your racism
this is a thread about china
learn to argue without show your ridiculous racism, troll

You first compared China's semiconductor industry with those of other countries, and you did it more than once.
Yet you accuse me of being racist for comparing the semiconductor industries of Spain, China, and Taiwan.
Your logic is quite funny. :sneaky:

In Chinese, there is a saying: “指著自己鼻子罵別人” Literally, it means “your finger is pointing at your own nose while you are blaming someone else.”
So you are actually not blaming someone else. You are blaming yourself.

Since Spain is behind other countries in the semiconductor industry, perhaps you should focus on your own country first.
China doesn't need your advice.

I personally have a very good impression of Spain, because its current Prime Minister, Sánchez, has the courage to criticize the hypocrisy of the United States and Israel, and has adopted an active, pragmatic, and friendly diplomatic approach toward China.

Don't worry. I won't change my view of Spain because of the stain left by an individual.
