So Tesla's are sold in China but US has restricted Chinese EV's from US? why is that?

Well for one because Tesla was forced to open a plant in Shanghai to get around import tariffs while Chinese companies like BYD have refused year after year to do the same in the US. They just perpetually kicked the manufacturing and selling can down the road for over 15 years.

Hey where are all the worldwide charging networks Chinese EV companies invested $100's of millions in???




Chinese EV companies like BYD have zero excuse. Exactly like legacy auto they REFUSED to make the same hard monetary decisions Tesla was forced to make....and like legacy auto now they are paying for it...and playing some tearful crying game of "boohoo it isn't fair...wah!!!!".

Don't ever fall for their crocodile tears. They had the US EV market in their hands before Tesla rolled out the first Model 3...and they completely blew it.

Well, without opening the Gigafactory Shanghai, Tesla would had been bankrupted by now, a real good chance. Talk of forced to open the factory, lol.

Yes, but while Chinese EV's struggled to survive in China Tesla was the one bringing EVs to the world...and it didn't come cheap. Paying for charging stations is one of the main reasons they were struggling to survive:
