JF-17 PFX program

Looks to me, NASTP gives internship to students to make these models and marketing material.

Those things matter nothing given the poor credibility of marketing material and AI generated videos recently. They have lost their credibility by their own doing.

People will only believe if they see something concrete. Fake models and cheap AI clips won't impress anyone any further.
Basically, NASTP is an amalgamation of the PAF's various in-house R&D units. So, a lot of them were already doing real work in radars, EW/ESM, target drones, simulators and LVCs, etc. And then there was AvDI, which was heading up Project AZM.

Today, that unit (ex-AvDI) forms a small portion of NASTP's actual work, with the latter doubling down on the areas the PAF actually knows, e.g., sensors, EW, simulators, and to an extent, comms.

I believe there are some private companies attached to NASTP also. But their work too is centred on UAVs, electronics, sensors, simulators, etc.

Yep, there are also new cybersecurity and AI entities too, both of which are growing fast in people and solutions. We'll also hear about some interesting work regarding guidance hardening in EW-dense environments too.

so are you positive about the paf approach in nastp?

Looking forward to it. From little that I know of and in few cases that I have seen, these commercial/private tech firms are bringing innovation to the table and are less prone to bureaucratic sluggishness that the public sector faces.
