Iranian Missiles | News and Discussions

Iran professor (spokesperson/surrogate?) is saying everything else was to draw fire, and 10-20 missiles were precision guided missiles to hit the base in the Negev. Iran says the attack cost them $3-4 million.

and what's the range?

RCS isn't hugely important given it's (low) speed and the fact Israel mobilised dozens of F-35s to scan skies constantly to detect and intercept these cruise missiles

they can do that because Israel is tiny, but it's not feasible for larger countries
What if the drones are traversing at multiple altitudes (very high altitude differentials) to make the F-35 job more difficult. I don’t think having all drones at same altitude was a good idea

Marandi is not a military expert or part of the IRGC security establishment

$3m seems way too low ... most estimates were saying $30-60m

Caution. That will make the drones more expensive—defeating their purpose under these conditions.

I’m confident Iranian Command has various ‘break even’ and optimization heuristics in place.

Target, load, speed, effect are a few variables in optimization heuristics used for ages in militaries like Iran.

This is basic OR (‘operations research’) in warfare. Almost certainly eaten away by AI to an extent nowadays.

Eg: what are optimal aircraft payloads for targets, distance, effect, time, fuel, etc.

Did you watch the Scott Ritter interview that was posted earlier? Scott Ritter is an ex US Marine Corps intelligence officer. He explains very well what happened and estimates the costs to be around 15m. Galloway being the interviewer makes it even better. I highly recommend you to watch it

Yesterday I posted another brilliant video of his. I advise you to watch that one too if you haven't already.

Hypersonic warhead (not to be confuse with HGV) does pop up manuveour prior to impact

We might be about to see what Iran’s air defense missile will be capable of soon enough. The Israelis are pondering how to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Sure, maybe Israel will be successful in targeting Irans nuclear plants. But Iran can do the same so I’d steer clear of that plan if I were Israel

Most likely a cyber attack will come, it’s a way the US can help without it being attributed to the US.

@Hack-Hook

always said they must spend at least a fraction of what they spend on missile on our air force not give them enough just to survive
also i guess we soon see some modification to the warhead, probably equip the higher end warhead with something like a micro-sar radar so the missile see were it go
