I have to say I find it quite stupendous that Americans (and other Westerners downloading their worldview from Amazon, Netflix and CNN) think that the cost of supporting Israel is just the few billion dollars the US sends to Israel annually.Folks, you have no idea how much your culture, your economy, day to day existence and your past and future are shaped by this support of Israel.
Have you any idea how many military bases, and how many resources are dedicated to protecting American interests in the Middle East, which have long been overtaken by Israel's needs and vision?I would guess that around 1/3 of all American security expenditure is dedicated to safeguarding American interests in the Middle East.
We're talking hundreds of billions of dollars every year, taken away from American taxpayers and transferred to the military industrial complex and regional bought and payed for players.Do you have nay idea what the US did to the region to support Israel? The anoint of corruption and meddling it needs to exercise? Can you imagine the kind of effort and cost it took to make virtually the whole region run by regimes suitable for US-Israeli needs? Can you grasp how detrimental these regimes are to the development of their societies and the Middle East, and how much friction and animosity they create?
Why is, you think. it that Islamophobia and Arabophobia are such major components of American culture? Well, duh, they need you to hate the people of the Middle East so that you don't ask questions why the US needs to defend from them thousands of miles away from US borders, as a fixed feature of the American way of life, indefinitely.
And what reason does people in the Middle East have to be hostile towards America? Do you think it's because they envy your public health system? The capitalist propaganda you drown in? No, it's the ongoing oppression the subjugation they undergo thanks to America's fantasies and 'commitment to defend Israel'.
-In the past generations, America's attempt to shape the Middle East according to its vision hae become one of the deciding factors in shaping American consciousness and the American landscape - be it the political, the cultural of the physical one.And in my humble opinion, you need to be a whole lot more daring in your questioning. Because the yearly aid package isn't even the tip of the iceberg. Question the strategy, question the culture, question everything
