I remember quite a few years ago the IRGC opened a permanent (aerospace) display in Tehran.

If one stood in front of the (glass) display one missile to the left roughly resembles Pantsir.

To the right were several models of cruise missiles.

its 4 years we announced kashef-99, you think how hard it is to tie it to something like Asefeh but it seems no one think its necessary to protect the base , one kahef-99 at the center of the base tied to several gun like Asefeh around it could prevent this incident and it was cheaper than any missile based solution against these quadcopter

Majid cannot hope to stand against a swarm like CRAM can. Or have unlimited ammo and cost efficiency against small drones like the laser cannon. There is a reason Navy ships use CWIS/CRAM for point defense and not a short range missile based system. Even Israel has begun to put their laser shield into operation.

stacking 8 Majid launchers per truck with 4-6 trucks per 'battery' = 32-48 missiles per battery

that's at least a good start and big improvement and not very expensive

what? There are AA guns in that airbase that fire much higher caliber rounds.

And CRAMs in Iraqi bases and green zone exist to protect US troops from mortars and drones and rockets.

The gun rarely points STRAIGHT, it’s usually elevated and distance it will travel before falling means populated areas are not at risk.

I'm not sure of the accuracy if this assessment.

Beyond that, what is the best way is to confront cheap 'off the shelf' objects? Probably kinetic one is not the best solution. A large perimeter area is preferable I think. Nobody should be able to get anywhere closer than a few kms.

Cram is much safer than a SA flying up and hitting something. But even then it’s rarer someone gets hit by a iron dome rocket. How many have been fired in Gaza War? 10,000? 20,000? How many injuries? Less than 10?

Laser, it is the future. The cost per shot is Pennies on the dollar. Laser is perfect for small drones, one blast and it’s out of the air.

Israel is implementing its laser dome. Iran has unveiled laser weaponary. US is installing on destroyers. China is experimenting with using lasers to stop hypersonic cruise missiles by stripping the missile of its protective coating thus causing physics to take over and incinerate at Mach 14+ speeds.

You can also use jammers and EW that force the commercials drone to land, but the range of those is limited and you would need many systems to cover a massive base the size of Parchin or Isafhan airbase.

I think a laser based system while it might have higher upfront cost, in long run it will be cheaper to operate as all you need is power and not a supply of air defense missiles or large caliber ammo.
