No. I am saying that people in important places have always been appointed with due influence -- both by BJP and Congress in their times.

What is troublesome is that Chief Election Commissioner's pay grade (and hence his/her standing and power in government structure) is being lowered.

This is a very different, subtle but important move. Why and to what end? I have few guesses, most of them point to avoiding creation of next TN Seshan. It may not be compromising election process in itself but to white wash kind of things BJP does: Getting money from businesses through opaque means like election bonds, campaigning when they should not be, Making polarizing calls which should be stopped by ECI but it will not etc.

If they are clever they will keep Elections, CEC and ECI intact but they will just give themself more room to work while keeping a vise like grip on their opponents. Congress worked via different corrupt means for the same end.

Everyone is approachable on the way up and Congress is not yet on its way up (though I wish for the sake of themselves and myself that they get on the way up). Do remember, IG was quite a princess as far as being approachable goes. How many "Pad Yatras" did she do?

I believe even if Rahul rode bikes on his private race track all day, a large chunk of India will vote for anyone-but-BJP.

Actually seeing some of the emoji laugh reacting spam on this thread reminded me of this again.

That some of these other fellows filled in the void I left, and became part of some conspiracy theory that I was running some umpteen ( DFI brigade et al.) accounts afterwards as though the mods had no way of detecting that and that I had some oodles of time for that too. They probably lost track of how many times they got called as me too.

Now those PDF-bong conspiracy peddlers (with axe to grind with the way I lived rent free in their heads) sure have some somber accountability internally for themselves I suppose if they choose to.....because the proof is all here openly. Things can be reset and reformed with new start of this forum and its approach. Or they can sulk as well I guess.

The earlier stuff of the bashing was unfortunate in hindsight (among other things and extreme foibles of people on PDF). I still kick myself about it sometimes. A PDF-reading bong (never posted, just read) was close friend of mine and he had some visceral reactions to some of the propaganda being blabbed there and wanted to get under the skin of some there. So hand in glove stuff in end. Other stuff got out of control too in escalation ladders.

I remain firm friends with number of ex-PDF Bongs that have quit fora altogether mostly (but we met on PDF and they could see through me like you did "hey whats the game here?").

It is essentially a Pakistani run and led forum.

We are all Indians right.

Yet look at the level of discourse.

In the real world it is a lot uglier.

There is zero communication between the two sides, across the split.

Two Indias.

Joined today by a passport and an army.

I've given up on the Chinese realm largely for this (Sun yat sen first principles to make a bridge for some disaffected types of both sides here in Canada). Its gotten too severe and highlander has largely been established given size of the mainland and its growth now....in any case I'm mostly seen as an outsider "that just happens to imbue by circumstances" by too many anyway. Ace up sleeve is I can always pretend (given my immutable looks) I don't understand the language, feign a ton of ignorance easily.... and spring a surprise far later. Shock treatment that seems to have worked with a few hard types.

Western realm its a long story and complicated one to get into (it ofc has not gotten to point like it has in India, not even close), but I'm active in bridge making here too since my direct necks on the line in the end.
