Explain to me why top tier allies air forces - USA, NATO common fleet, Japan, S. Korea, France, UK, South Korea, Australia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia are operating E-3s or derivatives of E-3 ported to Boeing 737/Boeing 767. Israel is only notable exception. They have the own platform. Some of you have proposed logical reasons - ERIEYE was not available. It does not explain it completely.

Brazil - They have no one to fight. They need surveillance platform to monitor airspace against drug cartels etc.

I am the last one who looks down upon the enemy. But thing is they are slow as hell. And as long as India sticks to HAL jokers and doesn't allow private giants like Adanis, Ambanis, TATA and others to manufacture fighter jets and helicopters they would remain slow as hell. Second, what is the capability in question? Is it radar range, tracking capability, C3i?

The current Saab Erieye is absolutely capable in all three sectors and in some cases the radar was more capable than the AN/APY -2. The C3I suite with ESM is also extremely effective- which leaves the question of onboard stations for controllers and that is simply available more to the E-3 because it is a larger aircraft.

But in terms of all the mission sets the E-3 can do, the erieye can do ALL of them and DID so on February 2019 skirmish and follow up escalation,

The E-3 is the gold standard for AWACS. The E-2 is for the US Navy. The E-2 has different variants made over different decades. You might want to be more specific here.

You can claim ERIEYE can do all the things the E-3 does. It is obvious top tier air forces think otherwise. They are all sticking with the E-3 and derivatives if it. You can always pretend the Polish air force is superior to French/British air forces.

In which universe is Poland more militarily more powerful than Germany, France and UK ? Or the common NATO fleet.

Saudis have 6 E-3s compared to 2 ERIEYEs. Yup Saudis and UAE have better combat aircraft than India. India does not operate either E-3 or ERIEYE.

Germany's air force is nonexistent just like their army. France has a strong navy but its air force and army lack numbers, same is the case with UK. Poland has the largest and most well-equipped army by a wide margin in Europe after Russia. However, its navy desperately needs modernization as its fleet is ageing.

Just ask yourself this simple question, why would KSA bother to even buy ERIEYEs when they not only have almost limitless cash but also have access to E-3s? The UAE could have also bought E-3s but instead, they opted for GlobalEyes. Just accept your claim regarding the ERIEYE's capabilities is baseless.

The Erieye is an AEW&C (or AWACS as defined by USAF). The AESA radar provides the aerial ISTAR element (AEW) and the platform has onboard consoles for air combat officers (air controllers, but in the Saab 2000 rather than the ground) to coordinate with connected fighter assets, I.e. Control/&C.

That's basically an AEW&C/AWACS.

The new Erieye ER goes a step further to enable you to connect GCI controllers in addition to your onboard controllers, thus giving you the effect of a larger platform (with more onboard consoles).
