It has no scientific value., It is just a boondoggle. They may send a rocket or two and stop it after that. The future belongs to intelligent robots for exploration. Humans are too weak and incapable for anything beyond short trip to moon. Look at our Mars, other planetary exploration, asteroid sample return - all are spectacular successes. Artemis is a giant scandal. STS stands for Senate Transportation System.
The Chinese set a record of 9 hours of space walk. I am pretty sure if humans in space was as useless as you tell it is, Chinese would not be doing it. Robots are nowhere as versetile as humans. Try fixing hubble telescope using just robots. It will not work.

Making versatile intelligent robots is true technological achievement. Setting a record of 9 hours when the previous record was 6 (or 7 .. ) hours is pissing contest. OK, they fixed Hubble by sending people. What will they do if Webb needs some work? If Nasa had invested the money they are spending on the Artemis Boondoggle, may be, by now, we would have the ability to launch autonomous, intelligent agents to go and repair Webb if needed. The people who fixed Hubble are not Nobel laureates.

Here is the problem. Your robots are NOT as versitile as humans can be. Not now the very atleast. When it comes to challenges of environment like space, they fall flat. Even the most modern ones.

But they (intelligent and versatile robots) are our only hope if we want to advance science beyond moon. Making them intelligent and versatile should be real scientific and technological goal. Not hauling another bag of dirt from moon or even Mars. We have over 800 pounds of moon rock and dirt already on earth. The scientific value of them is near zero. Once you determine the composition and crystal structure, it is pretty much over. It is like adding one more species of algae or fungus to your botany database.

So why chinese sent their man to space ?
Why do you ask? Aren't Chinese quintessential copycats, according to the entire West and those West wannabes?

Imagine being the first country to land a few intelligent robots on moon that do good quality original science (over an extended period) rather than a couple of humans who go, plant a flag, take a picture, make a phone call and bring home a bag of rocks and dirt. Which is a greater achievement? Having a pioneering colony of intelligent beings, albeit non-human or being 4th group of tourists on moon?
It is still much easier to produce intelligent human beings than intelligent robots. You don't even need specialized knowledge.

So why CCP bots are complaining now.?
I guess nobody likes to be called a copycat. However, I don't mind. I think it is perfectly fine to be a copycat, particularly for a smart person.

Hey nang2 buddy, good to see you here in the new PDF.

US sent humans into space after Soviets- will you call them copycats? China sent people into space after the US- are they 'copycats'?
